Puzzling Predicaments

"It's just images of the city Mistress," The magic mirror said.
"Please don't call me Mistress, My name is Dara." Dara said in her badly lit cell.
"Very well Miss Dara."
"Any new locations of the stones?"
"Both are in occupied rooms"
"And the basin?"
"The same."
"Ok show me the throne room." The image ripped and dissolved into Hectate on her throne and Harphelle stood before her.
"Magesty I have located a good place to find a soul tear," Harphelle said.
"Good now will you return with it?" Hectate asked
"Yes I am also setting up a trap for those Galactic fools."
"Ahh very good." The image of Hectate Dissolved and returned to the reflection of Dara and her room.
"Oh no," Dara gasped "I just hoped she is stupid enough to fail."

"Are you sure your ready for the test tommorow?" Laurine asked.
"Yeah English is a pretty easy subject for me," I answered.
"Me too, Want some cookies and milk?"
"Hmmm-mmm Studying makes me hungry."
"Celest told me your going through something." She said while getting the snacks."Want to talk about it?"
I explained the situation about how useless I have been feeling."Even though Celest told me I'm the dissipator I still don't feel its enough."
"Hmmm," Was all Laurine said "We have all been going through internal struggles since Keyla left, Riley's lovelife,my newfound leadership and now this."
"Laurine you already worked out the first two, don't wrack your head trying to help me."
"I'm the leader, I have to make sure the team is allright, So far all I have got is that there have been times where we wouldnt have survived without you."
"Thanks Laurine," I smiled.
"There is this funhouse that looks interesting,all kinds of mazes. after school the four of us can check it out." I smiled again.

"Amazment Funhouse This sounds like the perfect place to set the trap."Harphelle said and pulled out a chip. She threw it in the air and it became a mime like beastie with wings and a tic tac toe pattern on its chest.
"Nothin like having help that kows when to keep its big mouth shut, Harphelle said. The beastie mime stared at her a few seconds and nodded.
"Come on lets take over this place and wait for those girls." They entered the funhouse.

"Big crowd," Riley commented. We had gathered at the entrance of 'Amazement Funhouse' already a line has formed.
"What did you expect its opening day,"Laurine said.
"Arcades,wacky slides,mazes,playplaces for kids..."Merle read the brochure. "This place sounds great when Keyla returns we will take her here."
"Laurine is Celest with you?" Riley asked.
"I'm right here,." Celest's head popped out of Laurine's backpack. "When is this place supposed to open?"
"In five minutes,"I finally spoke up.
"Now keep your head down," Laurine shoved the cat back in.
Five minutes later the line began to move but only a few feet before stopping.
"I guess they are only allowing a certain amount of people in at a time," Merle said
"Crud," Riley complained. Twenty minutes passed again and the line moved. This time we made it closer to the door before the velvet rope was replaced.
"They could have at least provide some sort of heaters,"Laurine grumbled and shivered at the same time
"Anyone getting hungry?" I asked
"I am," Riley said "I guess we can eat before entering the funhouse part."
"They have a cafe in the entrance," Merle said.
"Good we can have something to eat and then enjoy a journey into mystery," Said Laurine.
"Speaking of mysterys, does anyone wonder why the people who haved entered havent exited yet?" I asked.
"Dunno, maybe they exited out a different way," Laurine replied.
"I'm not sensing anything evil," Merle added. I just shrugged.

"So they are just giving out samples?" Laurine asked. We were at a table at the cafe eating burgers and fries. Laurine was talking about the free powder compacts that Catsy and her sisters were giving out.
"Yup," Riley replied"They are from an old family recipe. Prisma gave me four and said she was saving one for Keyla." I looked at mine the compact was rose colored with bronze letteres spelling out "Novalunes."Inside it contained a mirror,glittery scented flesh colored powder, and a powder puff applicator. I slipped mine into my pocket.
"Ah crud!"Riley shouted. She bit into her burger and mustard squirted onto her shirt.
"Here take a towlette," Merle said after we finished snickering.
"Thats one of your flaws Riley, your too impulsive," Laurine pointed out.
"Atleast I don't get flakey over art." They continued jabs until we finished eating.

The first part of the maze involved the steps that made your right foot seperated form the left.
"The trick is too have both feet on the same side." I explained.
"That does make it easier." Merle agreed We cleard that obstical in no time. The next one involved the floor panels moving seperating out feet again.
"The same?" Laurine asked. I nodded we were about to go through the soft hanging pillars when we heard several screams up ahead.
"Whoa something scary," Riley said.
"Something evil," Merle added "I think Sadie was right."
"Ok lets transform,"Celest leaped out. I pulled out my wand too fast. It went flying backwards.
"You guys go ahead. I'll catch up." I told them and ran aback. Finally I caught the wand"Now I gotcha! Centauri star Power!" My nails sparkled and turned orange and the yellow lights spiraled down and spun around me. In a few seconds I was transformed. I leaped back to the pillars and banged through. The next area was the mirror maze. I noticed someone has written a note on the ground in lipstick.
"Don't touch the mirrors," was what it said, but how was I supposed to figure out what wasa reflection and wich was the real direction. Nebula must have figured it out cause the mirrors where fogged up by her mist. I ran through the areas that were free of fog but I noticed that it was begginging to disipate. It wasn't long until I came to a part where the mirrors were clear.
"Great," I mumbled. Then I remembered my compact I pulled out and took the powder puff out. "This should work, whooosh." I blew the powder everyehwere. The only place without powder I ran towards and through
After leaping over the spinning circles and that steam thing that lifted my skirt. I encountered another note.
"Whatever you do don't fall off" I noticed the door was on the otherside of the net lined pit. connecting both ends was a rope. I linked my ankles around the rope and began the hand over hand technique. About one third along the way, the rope began to jerk and sway violently. I held on fast until it stopped and begun to crawl again. The rope did the jerk thing one more time, right before I made it to the other side. Again I held on tight.
The next message written in lipstick was longer than the first two
"They got Celest, I think I figured it out the pattern:Yellow,red,blue,green. Use some of the feathers just in case." I picked up the feathers and noticed the long path made up of color changing squares. I waited for the first one to turn yellow and tapped it with a feather. Nothing happened, so I stepped on. I repeated this procces until I was about to step on yellow again. This time it turned yellow and the feather touched it the step glowed even brighter, opened up and sucked in the feather. I used another feather when it turned red and nothing happened.
"Now I get it." I said and continued along my way. I finally made it to the tube slides.
"There is another puzzle but I don't know what to do." I said softly and wondered what the others would do? Nebula would figure out the most logical way, Comet would insist that we'd try each one..thats it. I wasn't about to pick a random slide and go down it. Instead I pulled out my crossbow and shot an arrow into each one. The first arrow disapeard when the slide glowed. The second one made it to the end because I heard a distant "Yeeeowch!"
"Sounds like Harphelle." with the third arrow nothing happened. I slid down that slide and into a room full of stuffed animals and seven scared people.
"Lady Centauri?" One asked.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Your going to find the others right?"
"Of course she is and kick whoever's butt is behind it," Another person said. I nodded and slipped into the air ducts. Very quitely I crawled through the vents, I noticed a group of civalian prisoners in one location. I finaly reached my destination. Harphelle stood in a room that held the other Ladies. I knew I had to act fast. The beastie servant raced into the room. I kicked open the vent and shot arrows at the ropes until my friends were free and landed on the ground.
"Invited by a new age I am the shy Lady Centauri. In the name of Alpha Centauri I will punish you!"
"Shy huh, Is that why it took you so long to get here?" Harphelle asked.
"No she solved our trap puzzles," Her beastie replied." She should get a prize."
"We are trying to kill them not reward them!"
"Allright, Tic tac Death!" Razor sharp X's and O's came flying at me. I ducked and dodged them all.
"Centauri Rock Slide!" Large rocks were formed and rolled towards the Beastie knocking her flat on her back.
"Andromeda Siren Shriek!" Andromeda sent her attack towards the beastie. The creature roared and faded away leaving only a flat chip that fell to the ground and cracked.
"Why you!" Harphelle has gone avian mode and was attacking Nebula. The blond girl was using her staff to defend herself very well until the monstrite knocked her staff out of her hands.
"Squark!" Celest pounced on the for and scratched her in the face.
"You filthy beast," She shrieked and kicked Celest. She did not notice Lady Comet was behind her.
"Shooting Stars Away!"The five stars that varied in size pelted her back.
"Damn you!" Harpehlles eyes held a scathing look. She limped back ready to counter attack.
"We know you can't really help it but try not to be an idiot," Andromeda told her. Nebula nodded.
"Its stupid to continue this fight."
"I'll never forget this!" Harphelle disapeard

It was hours later and we were gathered at Castle Wyvern and Owen was handing out cups of apple cider.
"Whats the cinnamon stick for?" Angela asked.
"You sip through it like a straw." Riley explained and demonstrated.
"Ahhh."Angela tried it herself. "Delicious"
"Back to pressing matters." Goliath spoke up. "You defeated the harpy woman?"
"Uh-huh"
"Then all's well that ends well."
"Not quite" Laurine said and looked at me. "There is still the matter of..."
"I'm not feeling like I belong?" I finished for her and waited for her to nod. "The feeling is gone even though you gave me the clues."
"But you used the foundation powder when the fog lifted," Riley pointed out.
"An it only took you seconds to figure out the colored squares," Laurine added.
"Not too mention the last one." Merle finished.
"Your the groups puzzle solving detective. A viatal member to any team...or clan" Laurine finished.
"I'm lucky to have friends like you." I said with a smile.

"Harphelle got off prette easy," Dara said.
"Yes but she might not be so lucky next time." Mirror said. "What are you doing?".
"Gettin ready to forge a weapon," Dara answered.
"What kind of weapon?"
"A weapon of hope."
