Having its ups and downs

Well it looks like its my turn to narrate. Hi its me Riley. Just like with Laurine I can't narrate the enemy part. Well the weather we are having sucks. Mainly because I can't practice for track, the other reason is that its freezing. I decided one day to get a snack to warm me up.
"Hello Riley, would you like your usual?" Natie asked.
"Yes, but make it a hot cup of tea instead of iced." I answered. My snack was soon placed in front of me and I began to eat.
"Riley, why arn't you with your friends?" The kind woman asked.
"Laurine's got gym,Sadie is out on her offical first date with Ethan, Keyla is still missing and well Merle and Kyle did invite me to go skating with them but I'd feel like a third wheel."
"I understand...ops more customers."
"Hey Natie," Three members of the Rams's basket ball team entered.
"What will it be boys?"
"Three cheeseburgers with fries." Scott Keener ordered. The other two with him were Tony Rukous and my crush Danny Leah.
"Having dinner early?" I asked.
"Dinner? This is just a snack," Tony answered.
"C'mon Riles ya know we men have big appetites," Scott added I chuckled
"Your right, but why arn't you at practice?"
"It was cancelled," Danny answered I stared deeply into those blue eyes"how's the yo-yo?" He asked. He remembered.
"G-Great." I choked"The game is still on for friday?"
"Yup." Scott answerd.
"Ya coming Riles?" Tony asked
"you bet." I answered.
"Cool we'll see you there."

Dara had made some serious improvements to her cell. Scraps of carpet were layed here and there. A rickety table with a bad leg was for her meals, a stool next to the table was where she sat. A dinky little coffee table for her candle holders, candle holders,spare candles, a coushin to sit on, more coushins and blankets for a bed, an ever growin mini library and a beautiful full body mirror that was collecting dust.
She was just scratchig her seventh marker when harphelle entered.
"You have certainly spruced this dump up," The feather cloaked woman quipped.
"If I'm going to be here for a while I might as well be comfortable," Dara responded.
"You are weak but at least your smart."
"Thanks for the compliment."
"Escape is inpossible."
"Duh is that why you checked in on me?"
"No I just came to tell you that when we take over I'm going to change you into my personal beastie. You'll be my own handmaid."
"I'm thrilled."
"I knew you would be." She left.
"What a ditz." Dara rolled her eyes and pulled out a book titaled 'Magic Spells:a begginers guide" and turned to the pages on how to make a scrying mirror.

Later that Evening I found myself at Wyvern listening to Elisa's report.
"Chaves is having a field day," The policewoman explained"With Matt missing,not to mention several other missing persons."
"Other people missing?" Goliath asked.
"A few have ransom demands but the one I'm dealing with is a college student. The roomate claims to have seen the abducter in the action. She said that a purple faced vampire flew down and grabbed her during a harpist's performance." My ears picked up the last bit and I sat up straight
"That sounds like Nosferus," I blurted out.
"Riley?" Elisa asked both she and Goliath turned.
"Before Keyla left there was an attack at the concert Asten was playing in,"I began. "Before Nosferus left he dove low and, well I wasn't sure at the time but I though I saw him carry someone.
"So the new enemy has captured an innocent victim?" Goliath asked.
"Theyve been attacking and hurting innocents for a while."
"Well we know where Dara Hill is, Although trying to explain to the captain is a hard one." Elisa said"I better get going and try to work on the other cases."
"Becareful Elisa."
"You know me Big guy I'll be fine." She left for the elevator and Goliath turned to me.
"What about these eneimes?"
"We'll they are trying to find peoples soul tears."
"Soul tears?"
"Yeah the crystal tear shaped objects that is found inside almost everyone."
"Even Gargoyles?"
"I believe so, but don't worry. Nosferus and his kind are probably too stupid to even think about searching for them in you."
"Their goal is the soul tears, who is their leader?"
"Laurine told me that Nosferus refered to someone as his queen."
"We'll try to keep an eye out while on patrol." He gave assignements to the others and left.
"Might as well get cracking on my studing." I said to no one in particular.
"Whats the subject?" Celest asked.
"Whoa! when did you get here?"
"I've been talking to central."
"Well that explains it, and I'm studying for a math quiz."
"Well if you need any help."
"Thanks Celest, could you lend an ear also?"
"What's wrong Riley?"
"My love life of lack there off."
"Laurine told me of your crush."
"Yeah Danny..He's smart, gorgeous,friendly, and he knows my interests."
"So ask him out."
"I try but I can't get the courage, maybe at the game friday."
"I didn't know you like basketball."
"I don't but Danny and his friends asked me and I said I'll be there."
"And thats the first step," Fox walked in.
"Uh hi Fox," I said. Celest also greeted her.
"The fact that you are there for him shows that you really care." Fox continued
"Really?"
"Yes, that is one of the first steps, another step is too cheer for him, wave to him and offer a high five, or a 'you'll do better next time' speech at the end of the game."
"No problem there," I said.
"Of course Celest is also right about asking him out," The second she said that I gulped.
"Not a date date maybe a study date or.."
"Invite Danny and his friends for pizza with your friends."
"Good idea cat," Fox gave Celest a pat on the head.
"Right, tommorow I'll do it."

"I can't do it."
"Yes you can," Laurine said and began to push me towards the gym where Danny,Scott,Tony and some of the others were practicing.
"I'm afraid," I confessed.
"Riley green you are one of the toughest,fastest girls I know. As Lady Comet there is no youma or beasti that you are not afraid of. Your not going to be afraid of an average guy are you?"
"No." I headed through the entrance. I have to give Laurine snaps for that speech, but the minute I saw Danny I froze. I turned around to leave and saw Laurine with her hands on her hips. I gulped and sat down on the bottom of one of the bleachers. Laurine sat next to me.
Even all sweaty and his hair messed up Danny looked good, my heart skipped a beat. When he made a basket I cheered.
"Riley, nice to see that your watching us practice," Danny smiled and walked over too us.
"Hi Danny," I greeted "This is Laurine." I pointed to Laurine.
"Hi Laurine, haven't seen you around campus are you new?" Danny asked.

Harphelle stood on the roof of Dr Turner's Gymnasium.
"So many young athletes within," She said. "One of them must have a deep and beautiful soul." She pulled out a beastie chip. It was different than Nosferus's, instead of bat shaped it was shaped like a bird. The chip flew from her hand and into the gym. The chip hovered over the basketball and was absorbed.

"Clever Laurine, but you know the Rams will beat the eagles."Danny said.
"I'm not so sure of it." Laurine responded "But when you do defeat the barricudas you have to celelbrate at the Neon Lizard. It's Riley's idea."
"Really?" He smiled at me.
"You bet," I responded. He grinned and headed over to where the other players were.
"Hey guys! Riles has a great idea." He got their attention.
"Riles?" Laurine asked.
"Its what my friends at school call me." I told her. We turned back to the game. Apparently the other players also liked the idea. So far so good I thought when Danny picked up the ball. It rippled and grew, limbs poped out and so did a head.
"Slamdunk!" The Beastie cried. her arm became a canon and shot basketballs at the other players.. The other spectators screamed and ran off. Laurine ran with them. I understood what she was doing and slipped underneath the bleachers.
"Sadie, Merle?" I called on my communicator.
"Another Beatie attack?" Sadie asked.
"Yes" I answered. "Its a little different though its wings are more bird like than bat." I told them where we were and they said they would be on their way. I peered through the slits and saw a woman step forward to Danny. She grinned evily and her skin turned orange, feathered wings popped out of her back and her legs became birdlike. She flew towards Danny and scratched his chest with her bird talons. A Soul tear popped out.
"Invited by a new age I am the creative Lady Andromeda." Lady Andromeda had begun her speech. It was action time. I pulled out my wand.
"Comet Star Power!" My nails turned purple. I felt the fusion sparkles and the flash of light. When I was transformed. I left the bleacher and appeard behind the harpy lady.. she Held Danny's Soul Tear while Andromeda fought Slamdunk. I cracked my whip knocking the soul tear from her hands I leaped foreward and caught the tear.
"Who are you?" the harpy asked.
"I am the soldier of the cosmos Lady Comet. In the name of the cosmos I will punish you."
"Ok Lady Andromeda in shimmery silver,Lady comet in pastel pink," The enemy said. This one struck me as an airhead.
"Who are you?" I asked
" I am Harphell. Pleased to meet you too bad it will be the last time." She said "High Decibels." Her attack was similar To Andromeda's and it sent me flying backeards. I landed painfully on my back.
"Ouch." I grunted. Despite my pain I still held onto Danny's Soul Tear.
"Hand me the tear and I might let you go." Harphelle said.
"Never."
"Very we-aww" A knife flew by her knicking her shoulder.. We all turned to see where the knife came from. Standing on top of the bleachers was Feldspar.
"Feldspar!" Andromeda and I said with a smile.
"Greetings Ladies." Feldspar said and leaped in front of Harphelle. Andromeda swung her ax smashing Slamdunk's canon.
"Noooo!" Slamdunk cried
"Shooting Stars Away!" Each of my fingernails on my right hand had a glittering pink star. I rotated my hand twice,stepped foreard. The stars were launched and grew until they struck the beastie. They arranged in size from my palm to my torso. The beastie screamed and turned to smoke. A basketball bounced on the ground and what appeard to be a bird shaped chip popped out and cracked.
A metallic sound clattered on the ground, making us turn around. Harphelle had knocked out Feldspars knives. I leaped to his side and Andromeda leapt behind her. Harphelle looked nervouse. She scowled once and held up her hand.
"High...." She never finished her attack. Lady Nebula and Lady Centauri appeard comepletely surrounding Harphelle.
"Oh Crap!" The Harpy woman gulped and disapeard
"Who was that?" Lady Nebula asked.
"Harphelle."I answered and headed towards Danny.
"Are you allright?" I heard Andromeda ask Feldspar.
"I'm fine," The man in grey answered. Their conversation continued while I returned Danny's Soul Tear. His green eys opened and looked at me.
"Lady Comet?" He asked. I nodded. I wanted to stay but I had to go and detransform.

When I returned the ambulances have arived.
"Guy's I'm fine." Danny said to the paramedics. "Could you check on my friends?"
"Danny trying to be Mr. Macho?" I asked
"Riles!" He ran up to me nearly knocking over a paramedic. "Nice to see you safe." He put his arms around me.
"Ouch!" I squealed when his arms touched my back.
"You ok?" He asked
"Yeah my back is just a little sore." I explained a paramedic asked me to lift the back of my shirt.
"Hmm some swelling and bruises." she said
"I guess I hurt myself running from that thing." I said.
"Don't worry we'll bring the swelling down." The paramedic said. I barely listened. Danny held my hand.

"I'm sorry your magesty," Harphelle bowed. "But they seemed to have learned new tricks."
"Then we will have to use stronger beasties." Hectate told her.

"I surround your frame with my tears." Dara said while rubbing the tall mirrors frame with her tears. she whispered more strange phrases while throwing strange poweders against the glass. The mirror emmited a glow. She pricked her finger.
"For love,hope and dreams. For family, friends and the future." she placed her finger on the glass. The second the blood touched her reflection rippled as if it were waer. The mirror then pulsed as if it where breathing and said
"Thankyou for creating me."
