I stood up just enough to throw my Chakram. I aimed at their feet. My weapon met its contact tripping about three of them.
At the same time I attacked Miranda,Brooklyn and Raphael fired their rifles. The lazers zapped the pistols out of the hands of our enemies.
I ran to where I tripped some of the troops and begun to remove their weapons. Before I can take the gun from the third he stood up aiming his rifle at my chest. I gulped and wished Orion was there.
"Growwwwl!" A red panther attacked him from the side.
"Matt," I gasped when I saw the amulet around his neck. He swiped the rifle from its arm with his paw and growled some more.
"Matt Look out!" I screamed when I saw another soldier aim at him."Sun LightDisc Spin!" The three golden discs whizzed towards the soldier. Two centered on its weapon destroying it. The third knocked the invader out.
"Whoops I didn't mean to destroy the gun." I apologised. Matt and I faced the rest of the battle. Two more soldiers where knoecked out. Lexington caused another to surrender. Miranda,Brooklyn and Raphael where playing lazer tag with four of them. Teresa snuck behind one and planted the snub of her pistol behind its head. The soldier surrendered,but one who wasn't too far away shot its rifle and shot Teresa in the wing.
"No!" I threw my weapon at the attackers gun not caring if I destroyed it or not, while Matt pounced on him.
"I got the one she caught!" Lex cried. I didn't notice the high commander with the bazooka like weapon until it was too late. I heard a whirring sound and saw the sphere of light exit the weapon. I tried to dive but it was too late. The blast struck me right on my Solar brooch. I felt the force of the blast and was knocked on my back.
"Lady Sun!" Lexinton yelled. Brooklyn cursed and the others gasped.
I gasped waiting for death to come but it didn't. I had the wind knocked out of me and my brooch was still glowing from the blast. Thats when it happened. I heard multiple cracks and my brooch broke into five pieces. I grabbed them and noticed my transformation was dropping, my Galactic Lady uniform disapearing.
"No...it cant," I whisperd my eyes beginning to moisten over. I sat up when I heard the commander was about to fire again when a giant worm crawled up and picked him up in its jaws. The worm thrashed left and right before slamming it into a tree. The sickening sound that followed let us knew the alien was dead.
Seeing the death of its leader the other two free soldiers turned tail and ran.
The worm changed back inot Banshee and the panther back inot a human.
"Round up the prisoners and head back." Miranda ordered. The otheres collected the captured troops and headed back to the castle. I just sat in the dirt and cried.
"Keyla whats wrong?." Brooklyn asked.
"They...b-broke it m-my trrransformmmmation broooch," I begun to wail."Without it I cant transform, I'm useless."
"Come on lets return to Miranda's home." He offered me a hand. That's when I noticed his shoulder. It was a different shade of red and it was swollen
"Brooklyn your shoulder," I whispered.
"Yeah one of them knicked me."
"I can't heal you....I can't heal anyone anymore."
The walk back was silent. When we arrived some of the members of the fey checked us out. They took Teresa and Brooklyn to the healing room. Others lead the prisoners to the dungeon.
"That makes 107 prisoners,118 deaths, and 23 retreats," Coyote entered tallying up. He stopped when he saw me.
"What's wrong?" The leather wearing fey asked.
"They destroyed my brooch," I choked out.
"What?" Orion ran up. He saw my tear filled eyes and the remains of my tranformation brooch in my hands.
"Oh Keyla," He ran up to me and took me into his arms. I let it all out.
"When it shattered so did my hope for saving the world," I finally managed to get out.
"From the aliens?" My gaurdian asked
"The aliens and Nosferus. How can I help the others if I can't transform?"
"We'll find a way."
"how?"
"I.." He stopped suddenly I turned around and saw the weird sisters.
"What do you wan't?" Orion asked.
"For the heroine to change again," Raven/Selene began.
"She needs to listen to her heart," Blond/Phoebe added.
"And be channeld through her gaurdian," Silver/Luna finished. They disapeard.
"What did...?" I began but Orion cut me off.
"Keyla who means the most to you?"
"My friends and family."
"Do you feel it in your heart?"
"I do, I want to help."
"Place your hands on mine." I placed my hands on Orion's. The second they touched the pieces of my brooch began to shimmer and glow in five different colors, gold,silver,pink,orange,and light blue. Each piece began to fuse together and a shimering light grew into a final flash. In my hands was a red heart shaped brooch with jewels and an image of the sun rising. I immediatly pinned it to my shirt.
"Now say Sun Cosmic Power." Orion said before changing back to a cat and fainting.
"Orion!" I began I was about to pet him but remembered if I was Lady Sun I could be able to heal him.
"Sun Cosmic Power!" I felt the warm light again.
"What was that flash?" Lex asked running in. His jaw dropped when he saw me.
"I'm back the new and improved Lady Sun," I said with a smile. I hoverd my hand over Orion."Sun healing."After Orion woke up I asked, "Now where is Sick bay?"
Some of the more medicinal members of the fey where treating the injured. I approached Brooklyn and Teresa "Sun Healing." I rained my light on their wounds I then turned to a row of injured fey and gargoyles"Sun Mega-Healing!" Each one of them glowed.
"Now that nearly everyone of us is healed and in good fighting condition,"Athena began "It is time we take down our enemy." Everyone cheered. Those that didn't have a weapon grabbed one. Orion changed into his griffin form and Matt did the same with red fur and feathers. He even had a galaxy shaped spiral on his forehead.
"Ready?" Tom asked.
"Yeah," I heard Lex's reply. Brooklyn stood next to him. "We have to be quick only three and a half hours until sunrise." The red gargoyle said.
"We have plenty of time," Miranda said.
"Now towards their ship!" Athena yelled and we stormed onward.
Us Manhattenites where in the middle so we didn't see much action at first but we heard a lot of weapons fireing and spells being uttered. We kept moving onward. I was begining to see less backs of heads and more alien troops begin minor battles. Soon I was alone. I began pulling surprise attacks kicking them in the back and sides. Giving my comrads the oppurtunity to remove their weapons and tying them up in that special rope.
I turned when I heard a monstrous cry of aguish. The banshee had killed about five more invaders in her worm form but the enemy retaliated and begun to shoot at her with harpoons that obviously had iron in it.
"Leave her alone!" I screamed and kicked a few of them in the helmut. A group of them surrounded me. I gulped and hope my arm was good enough. I threw my chakram in a circular motion and ducked. clank,clank,clank,clank,clank. My weapon struck them all down. orion pulled out the last harpoon when I arived.
"Sun MegaHealing!" I rained down the powerful beam of light. A few minutes later the banshee was healed."Their ship isnt too far away," I said. The banshee picked me up in her mouth and tossed me into the air.
"Hey!" I screamed. she caught me on her back.
"Oh you want me to ride you," I felt her nod and we rod off Orion flying by our side.
Not too long we approached a wave of troops firing their rifles. Banshee manuvered her body so she could take the blasts.
"You attacked an innocent island for no reason but your own personal gain. Maybe Oberon and Titania will forgive you but I won't," I started "I am the pretty Soldier of warmth and light, Lady sun. In the name of the sun that provides life for this planet I will punish you!" Hey that was my best speech yet. I held my arms over my head.
"Sun Aurora Borealis" I thrust my arms foreward and ribbons of sunlight shot out. They sent the invaders flying onto their backs. Their weapons were burnt to a crisp and started to crumble.
"Nice new trick," Matt apeared by our sides. "Uh oh more are coming." five more troops ran up. A whirring sound followed by a shphere of light put an end to their weapons. Brooklyn ran up to them aiming his gun.
"Reach for the sky punks," He said. Miranda and Lex appeared behind him.
"Banshee take the prisoners back to the castle." Orion ordered. I slid down off her back while she threw the tied up prisoners onto her. She slowly left."Miranda tie up lexington." My gaurdian commanded.
"What?!"I asked
"Coyote's idea," from behind him another soldier walked up.
"Ok create a diversion," Coyote's voice said from under the helmut. Matt nodded and went from griffin to tyranosaurus. He stomped foreward raring and tossing the aliens like rag dolls with his prehistoric head and tail.
"Pretty cool," I commented and leapt between a group of aliens"Sun Aurora Borealis." I held my arms apart, blasting them from both sides. In between fighting I noticed that coyote and Lex hopped onto an abandoned hovercycle and rode towards the ship. I wasnt sure what the plan was but we were seriously fighting the enemy. Orion and a few more fey lead the captaives back to the castle and I fired my attack a few more times.
I was about to throw my chakaram again when we all heard a loud sound.
"Thats the signal to retreat!"Orion yelled. We ran back as fast as we could.I stopped when I heard a crash, the others also stopped. turning back we saw that the ship had crashed and its power was all out.
"Attack the ship!" Athena cried. We all cheered racing for the fallen angel.
More of the enemy tried to protect it and we could se a badly beaten Lex and Coyote being tossed out through an opening. I Grumbled and threw my weapon while the sounds of the battle surrounded me. We where getting closer to a fianal assault when we heard a loud hum and a great flash of light shone down. I shielded my eyes and looked up another ship, much larger and differnet in construtcion hoverd over the island
I sighed and cursed when smaller ships the size of cars desended down. I looked at a nearby alien, expecting him to gloat but instead he looked scared.
The smaller ships landed and different aliens exited them. They were different sizes and wore different colored outfits. Some carried little devices while some approached our enemy. The enemy reached for the sky.
"I don't know why your here," I said to one of the newcomers"but if you make trouble then in the name of the Sun I'll..." I stopped when he pulled off his helmut. His skin was silver and he had grey blue freckles under his violet eyes. His pearly hair was cropped close to his head. The rest of his feature resembled the fey.
"Thank you,"He said in a strange accent
"Uh...?"
"You and your friends apprhended the Urs Gui for us."
"The Urs Gui?"
"A group of interplanetary terrorists. We have been chasing them for a while."
"Your like space cops?" I was overcome with relief and joy.
"Well Captain I hope you make it back to your system safetly,"Oberon said to Captain LHoi of the Nowiguini Beta task force.
"Thank you for your courteysey. We just need to tally up the names of the casualities and we'll be off,"Lhoi said.
"We have your weapons ready to be returned to you," Athena told him.
"Keep them. We'll feel better knowing you'll be safe from future invasions."
While the bigwigs talked I yawned.
"Tired Keyla?"Orion asked.
"Uh-huh,"
"We'll be leaving soon."
"Oh good," I saw Matt return the amulet
"Well were ready."Brooklyn said.
"Good," Miranda told him. She led us back to the skiff. I climbed in and slumped. Orion came in after me. I really didn't remember the order after that but I did hear "Your joining us Miranda?" I opened my eyes. Miranda had climbed into the skiff with us.
"I recently discovered that I'm good at figuring out technology," She explained "I believe I Belong in your world." Whatever happened after that besides the boat beging to sail away was blank because I just fell asleep
