Keep your sig simple - use a minimum of links to
keep
load time low. Not everybody has the time to wait
while a
sig loads...
Try to be considerate of others when you pick things
to
go into your "work of art". Remember, "one man's
pleasure
is another man's poison....."
Start with the background and work your way "out".
Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day! Work at your
own
pace. You don't have to do EVERYTHING in one
sitting. If
you begin to feel tired or frustrated, TAKE A
BREAK!!
Test your work by sending it to yourself! Just type
in
the first part of your email address - the part
before the
@ symbol, you don't need the rest!!!
You can pick up a LOT of good ideas by "bouncing"
other
peoples email and NewsGroup posts and by "validating
WebPages. These two methods allow you to see the
"source
code"(how the sig or page is put together).
When you think it's "ready", send it to another one
of
your users. Here you can check the "true" load time.
