Chapter 7
The Camp of the Kassar
The Brothers rode into a circle of wagons. The people looked at them strange. They dismounted and watered their kaiila. They were told they could rest in a wagon if they needed to.They went to a wagon and soon all were asleep. When they awoke and left the wagon it was dark.
The fires burned brightly. The brothers had ate roasted bosk meat. They
drank paga.Slaves in leather Camisk were kept very busy filling the brothers
bowls. The brothers had found out from Conrad that Spirit Wolf had been
living with the Kassar for quite awhile and he had only recently left
the
camp. SENSEI seemed glum he had missed his brother.Despite all the
problems
between them,he still cared very much for his brother.
Zadedar was inspecting the Kassar knife of the Kassar with a Kassar
named
Stab~Lok.Zuess and Kronos were listening to stories about a great city
in
the plains, some considered this city to be the Ar of the South.Zuess
seemed particularly interested in this.Kronos on the other hand seemed
more
interested in the stories of a jungle and the fair skinned women that
was
aid to be seen along its shores.Morgan and Renegade were inspecting the
kaiila lance ,weapon of the Kassar, with a Kassar named Amir Gabriel.
Sabre
Wolf found a group of young warriors that liked to gamble,he was
looking
perplexed, it seemed the gambling was not going his way this night.
SENSEI
sat alone rather sullen. Conrad approached with a Kassar Freewoman
beside
him.
"This Parthia,a freewoman of the Kassar, she wanted to meet you."
SENSEi looked up and nodded with a grunt.
"I will leave you two to talk" said Conrad.
The freewoman sat next to SENSEI and spoke " I love your brother Spirit
Wolf. He keeps himself distant but i think he loves me as well."
SENSEI looked surprised at the womans brazen words. A quaility that he
would find is always abundant in this woman.
Sensei and Parthia spent much of the rest of the evening talking.
SENSEI
seemed to lighten up a bit hearing some of the antics of Spirit Wolf.
They
laughed and smiled as he and the Freewoman spoke. The night passed quickly. One by one the brothers headed back to the wagon to get some sleep. All But SENSEI he and FW, Parthia talked till the sun rose. He learned that Spirit Wolf had headed off toward the coast. The brothers met in the morning.SENSEI wanted to head toward the coast but at Zuess' urging they decided to head off to the great city of the south. They saddled thier kaiila and bid Conrad and the other Kassar goodbye. SENSEI waved goodbye to Parthia. Little did they both know thier paths would cross again in another place. The brothers rode out over the plains and headed south.
