These are some of the essentials that you should know about the Wu:

9 Original Members in the Group:

9 members x 4 chambers in each member's heart (left atrium, left ventricle, right atrium, right ventricle) = 36 chambers 36 chambers x 10 degrees of separation between each chamber = 360 degrees = a perfect circle = infinity (a circle has no end or beginning) 36 fatal points on everyone's body x 10 degrees of separation between each point = 360 degrees (same as above)
Wu-Tang is a swordstyle that was taught by Shaolin Monks in Chinese monasteries. Wu-Tang students used to challenge their Shaolin masters in swordfights. That's why you will hear old movie clips that say things like "Do you think your Wu-Tang sword can defeat me?"
There are really only 35 chambers, not 36. So the Wu-Tang clan actually created the 36th Chamber, in a sense. The real Wu-Tang Clan members grew up in projects on Staten Island, New York. When they were growing up, they used to watch old Chinese movies about the Wu-Tang, and it fascinated them to see the fluidity and expression exerted by the Wu-Tang students in their sword fights. So when they formed their group, they decided to call it Wu-Tang because of the fluidity and deeper meaning that can be found in their lyrics.
Wu-Tang is sometimes referred to either of the following acronyms:
W-U-T-A-N-G: We Usually Take a Niggaz Garments
W-U-T-A-N-G: Witty Unpredictable Talent and Natural Game
Wu-Tang members like to use mathematics, such as the 360 degree / 36 chamber concept explained above. In addition, they represent words based on the numbering system 1-26 that corresponds with each respective letter in the alphabet.
For example, my name:
Milad would be written in numbers as: 13-9-12-1-4 Where the 13 represents "M", 9 represents "i", 12 represents "l", and so on... So when you hear things like: "Peace to the number 7, everyone else get the 4-9-3-11" They mean, Peace to 7 where 7 = G, so: Peace to God Everyone else get the 4-9-3-11 means everyone else get the (you can figure it out)
And, if you want to know where to get Wu-Tang t-shirts in Los Angeles, go to Melrose. There is a shop called Underground. It's across the street from a music store and next door to some skateboard place. Check it out, they have some cool GZA and Wu-Wear t-shirts. They also carry the latest mixes from DJ-Shiite in NYC. That's where you can find some of the latest Wu-Tang freestyles/remixes.
