The Action Team in Williamsburg is an expansion of the old Chamber of Commerce.  Not only does it represent business interests, but it involves a whole cross-section of citizens: men, women, business people, retired people, teachers, artists, activists, young and old.

Our mission is to restore and revitalize the Williamsburg Main Street-downtown area, moving Williamsburg proper from a state of decline into a vital Renaissance center of commerce, art and culture, with a focus on its historic past and an eye toward a progressive future.  Our first project has been saving the historic Lane Theater, which we now own and are renovating to become a major cultural tourism center for the state and Southeastern Kentucky region.

After the Lane project is complete we will move on to restoring other buildings and encouraging the development of attractive business enterprises in the downtown area while continuing to support our existing merchants.
