Brave New World

"Brave New World", Aldous Huxley's masterpeice of modern literature showed a future not too far off from what we face. Huxley presented a people obsessed with pleasure and drunk on artificial happiness, a world where drugs are like food and sex is a game, a world much like our own. The film version focuses mainly on the relationships between three of the major characters: John, Bernard, and Lenina. John is a savage, raised away from the gleaming city of the future who comes to the "civilized" world for the first time and is both attracted and disgusted. Bernard, a unique and intelligent, but physically inferior, man feels out of place in a world where perfection is the norm. Lenina, the typical citizen of civilization, is the woman loved by them both, a woman in a place where love cannot really exist. These three characters and others face the tragedy of perfection and the dispair of happiness in "Brave New World: the movie"
