The Ceilidh Dancers

The following five pictures are of the Ceilidh Dancers. These guys were really cool. They held a bar between each of them, and danced around in circles and loops. I'm hoping to capture their essence here.

The Group

It is kind of hard to see how what exactly they are doing, but look at the bars around the middle-man. Those are the bars they never let go. They do bend, by the way.

Twisting

Here they are twisting around. It is kind of like that game where you grab someone's hand in a group, then someone else's, and you have to make your way out of the knot.

Flipping...

Obviously they worked out the knot, and decided it was boring enough to just do a little flip... One of those guys looks in pain!!!

Movement...

Just to show that they actually are moving rather fast, I took one photo at a shutter speed of 1/8. That is why it looks blurry: it shows their movement!

Fini!

All that movement paid off. Without letting go of the bars, that is until this guy took all of them, they formed the star. It was about a 5 minute dance, in which they never stopped moving... I bet they are very tired!
