Do you find yourself bored because of the lack of books? Do you long to read a good book? Other than the Tamora Pierce ones. Well, look no further! I have read many books in my time and have discovered some of the best! And here they are! My friend Sarah will probably help me with this. She always does.

Some of these are boxed in by horizontal rules. If you see some that are boxed in and all have the same author, that means they're a series together.


Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar. Takes place on the Upper East Side of New York. LOADS of gossipy stuff! You get addicted to it!

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. A fairytale about this really young genius who is trying to rule the world or something. But he tries to take something from the elves and trolls. The elves try to take back what was theirs and an interesting battle ensues. A really good rainy day book.

The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinney, another good "girls rule and kick butt" book. Princess Aerin wants to help, so she learns how to battle dragons. She goes around the realm killing dragons. It does have a little romantic ending. This is the prequel to the Blue Sword.

The Seer and the Sword by Victoria Hanley.A young princess named Tora finds her father was killed by the man who was his advisor. The princess flees because the man has attempted to kill her. All the while, the prince of the country that the princess's father had conquered runs around looking for her. You must read to find out the end.

The Healer's Keep by Victoria Hanley. This is the daughter of Tora. I haven't read it yet, so I'll let you know what it's about when I do read it!


What My Mother Doesn't Know- One girl tells in poems what things she has done that her mother doesn't know of. From snogging her boyfriends, to doing strange things with cold windows. Hilarious!

Firegold by Unknown to the Webmistress. Rather depressing. But, it is a very good book if you like depression and insanity. Everyone thinks that Jonathon will go crazy when he turns 14. Why? Because he has blue eyes. Could it be that these eyes connect him to the barbarians of the mountains near his home?

All American Girl by Meg Cabot. HILARIOUS!!! Sam is an ordinary gothic girl with a love of hamburgers. Until she saves the President's life while waiting for the maid at her home to pick her up from art class. She goes through the crazy life of being the number 1 hero in the country and all the while being in love with her older sister's boyfriend. But, with all the insanity of these incidents, we musn't forget that the President's son may even love her!

Angel on the Square by Gloria Whelan. Katya is a young noble girl in Russia during the rule of Tsar Nicholas and his wife Empress Alexandra. When Katya's mother is asked to be a lady-in-waiting for the Empress, Katya is thrown into the palace, befriends the imperial family, and then sees the hurt and pain of Russia during WW1, and the downfall of what she calls her family and all nobility. Making it unsafe for her to be a noble.


Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz. 14-year-old Alex Rider has just found out that his late uncle and guardian was a secret agent for MI6. MI6 needs Alex to be an agent too. A man has just created a supercomputer called Stormbreaker. He is now giving free computers to the schools of England. MI6 thinks this is very suspicious and sends Alex in to investigate! The action in this book is impeccable!

Point Blank by Anthony Horowitz. After the Stormbreaker incident, Alex returns home to try and make up nearly 3 weeks of homework, only to discover MI6 needs him again. This time to look into a school for boys in the Alps. Two fathers have been killed in separate parts of the world. There doesn't appear to be any connection except that both fathers' sons attend this boys' finishing school. There Alex finds a scheme more complex that could ever be thought possible!

Skeleton Key by Anthony Horowitz. The third in the Alex Rider series. Alex is forced to deal with a Russian General with a nuclear bomb,


The Face of the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney. Janie Johnson has had a happy family life. Her mother volunteers at the hospital and her father coaches a soccer team. But, at lunch when Janie looks at a mil carton at the missing child, she feels that she is staring at her own picture. Could she has been kidnapped? Are her parents really that horrible?

Whatever Happened to Janie? by Caroline B. Cooney. Janie's going to live with her real family. Can she handle that? What about her other parents?

The Voice on the Radio by Caroline B. Cooney. Reeve betrays Janie's trust. She's angry at him for the voice on the radio..

Shadowland, Ninth Key, Reunion, Darkest Hour by Jenny Carroll. The first four books in the Mediator series. Suze Simon is a mediator: She can see and talk to ghosts. Her job is to help them get to the next world. Very funny. I find them very hard to put down. A must for any Meg Cabot or ghost fan!

Haunted by Meg Cabot. This is the fifth book in the Mediator series. Meg Cabot is Jenny Carroll.
