Trish's Quilting and scrapbooking

LOOKING BACK (tm)Welcome to "Looking Back". I endeavor to be your personal archivist; taking photos and memorabilia and creating one of a kind scrapbooks.

Scrapbooking has become the hottest craft trend in the United States over the past decade. However, for generations people have been scrapbooking. As a child, you more than likely kept a scrapbook—of articles from the newspaper or magazines, about your favorite movie star or athlete, or even your exploits as the football star in High School. You carefully trimmed all the way around the article, you liberally applied white paste or cellophane tape and adhered it to an oversized “scrapbook”, purchased at Woolworths.

The paper was the same manila construction paper used in school, and it was more than likely held together with cording threaded through eyelet holes.

New style, or SAFE scrapbooking (SB) came along a lot later. Acid Free (AF) is a word you will hear over and over in the SB world. With the time you invest in preserving your memories, you will want to understand what is meant by AF, Lingin Free, and what does this mean to your work. Should you obsess about it, ignore it, or simply be aware of the implications?

Today, SB’ing is collecting photos of events, creating interesting visual backgrounds for displaying them and providing decorative elements and journaling that enhance the photos meaning. This is all done with a variety of papers, tools, markers, stamps, embellishments, chalks, fibers, and emphera.

I am a scrapbooker; or an archiver; or a memory saver. Allow me to provide you with help organizing, protecting and displaying your heritage and memories.

I will take your memories, photographs and ephemera, and create one of a kind memory albums for you. As an artist, I will provide completed layouts from two pages to entire scrapbooks with subject matter ranging from last summers vacation to the first 18 years of your childs life to the special relationship you have with your kitty.

Please contact me to find out more about how I can help organize your photos, and turn boxes of pictures into books of wonderful memories for years to come. Looking Back through all your precious "once only" memories, organized and preserved with a caring touch, you will always be able to relive those days with crystal clarity. Looking Back, you won't regret a thing.

I had the pleasure of participating in the Chatterbox Make it Meaningful album contest this past autumn. I found the challenge to amazing, and believe that joining this was one of the high points of my artistic life. Please take some time to browse my "All about Me" album
