The Boys Are Back In Town
Video by Everclear
Directed by Adam Rifkin
After completing filming for Detroit Rock City, the four stars (along with Adam Rifkin and Gene Simmons) joined up in Los Angeles to film the video for "The Boys Are Back In Town", the first single and video release by the band Everclear for the Detroit Rock City soundtrack.
Directed by Adam Rifkin (who also directed Detroit Rock City), the video intercuts scenes of Everclear performing with shots of Giuseppe Andrews, Edward Furlong, Sam Huntington and James DeBello being chased by security guards through the backstage area. The video jumps back and forth with the cast at a 70's concert and at a 90's concert (which was filmed the following day). Everclear's Art Alexakis (a KISS fan as a young teen) chose the song to do the cover for, originally performed by Thin Lizzy. Alexakis was also in the audience for one of the KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park shoots in 1978 and was very involved with the making of this video.
This is not the first video that Edward Furlong and Giuseppe Andrews have appeared in. Furlong appeared in Aerosmith's "Livin' On The Edge", and Giuseppe in Smashing Pumpkin's "1979". Andrews says about the filming, "This video is better because I get to work with Adam, who directed the film."
