You wanted the best and you got the best!  Of Lex, that is.
The following pages contain even more images from Detroit Rock City...

And yet another movie poster.

Little Errors And Other Neat Things

The best movies have them - those little flubs that sneak by unnoticed.  Along with pictures from the film, the next two pages include some editing errors and other neat little facts about the film.

Beginning:  Jam's mother shakes the wall unit, trying to stop the record player.  The small silver statue on the shelf above her falls off a few separate times before it ends up back on the shelf again.

11 minutes:  Jam's mother takes out the box of new clothes she bought him from his closet.  As she's pulling out the box, it has a small red logo in the top corner.  However, when she holds up the box to hand it to him, the logo has changed to a larger Kmart logo with a red 'K' and blue 'mart'.  (Thanks to Lisa for pointing out this detail to me - I don't think I would ever have found this one).

Trying to look innocent (Jam just looks panicked).

12 minutes:  Hawk tells the guys that they will head to the train station after school to take the train to Detroit.  However, they end up driving all the way there - even though Lex is paranoid about just taking his mother's car into the next county. Originally, they were to take the train, but they missed it - resulting in having to drive.  That scene was cut from the film.

"That geek looks like Jam" ~ Trip.

13 minutes:  Jam's drumstick rolls off his desk onto the floor.  Both he and Beth bend over to pick up the drumstick, knocking their heads together in the process.  Beth reaches up to hold her head and in the next shot, she has the drumstick in her hand - the same hand she was just holding her head with.  (Thanks to Lisa for pointing this one out to me.)

Lex's day starts to go bad.

15 minutes:  Jam is called out of class by the principal to immediately report to the office to see his mother.  At this point Hawk, Trip and Lex are in class.  Lex is in gym class in the middle of playing basket ball.  As Jam walks down the hall to confront his mother, Lex, Trip and Hawk are down the hall, peeking around a corner.  Since Jam was told to immediately see his mother, how did Lex get out of class and get changed from his gym uniform into his regular clothes so quickly?

The devastating news.

16 minutes:  Jam's mother is holding an unlit cigarette in her hand.  Seconds later, she pulls out a new cigarette from her pack and goes to light it.  What happened to the original cigarette in her hand?

26 minutes:  Hawk delivers the pizza to Father McNultey.  McNultey pulls out a $10.00 bill from the donation box and closes the lid to the box.  As he hands the money to Hawk, the box's lid is open again.  He then closes the lid a second time.  (Thanks to Heather for pointing out this one to me.)

Just when they think things can't get worse...

29 minutes:  Quick wardrobe change.  Jam was wearing his Kmart clothes - now he's wearing denim and a t-shirt.  The parts where he got his clothes and changed were cut from the film.  (Both Lex and Jam change places in the back seat ~ Lex sitting on the left side, then right, then left again.  Thanks to both Amanda and another fan for letting me know about this one.)

30 minutes:  The guys have quite the sound system in their car.  When the 'disco car' pulls up behind them, they are listening to The Boys Are Back In Town.  Seconds later, they are listening to a different song.   And seconds after that, we hear Radar Love by Golden Earring.  After they are pulled over, the 8-track with Love Gun automatically starts to play.  Great tunes, however!

The voice of reason in the ladies room.

32 minutes:  Hawk rolls up his window when the disco car pulls up next to them.  Then the window is down, then up, then down, then up, then down, then finally up again.  For getting rammed four times, the side of the Volvo looks quite dent and scratch-free.  Quite a good little car.

Getting ready for a jailbreak.

34 minutes:  Kenny pounds Hawk's head into the pizza remains on the windshield of the car and then lets go of Hawk, resulting in him dropping onto the pavement.  Getting fed up with Kenny's behaviour, Christine gets out of the car, steps around Hawk on the ground and starts walking away.  When we see a new angle of her walking a second later, Hawk is suddenly no longer on the pavement where we just saw him (or anywhere else in the shot).  He's disappeared!  (Thanks to Lisa for finding this one).
