Facts.

* The only one who has really met with J.R.R. Tolkien from the cast and crew is Christopher Lee. It happened while he was at the pub.

* Sean Astin gained 30 pounds for his role as Samwise Gamgee

* Elijah Wood made his own videotape for casting and sent it to Peter Jackson. He dressed up in costume and read Frodo`s monologues from the book.

* It was made 1500 handmaded costumes, 200 Orc masks, 1800 pairs of hobbit feet. Armor (swords, axes, bowes etc) was also handmaded.

* Fellowship members let themselves tattood number "nine" in Elvish. Exept for John Rhys-Davies, who sent his dublant.
