Germany - North-South-Line

The North-South-Line is the main line from Hamburg and Bremen with their large harbors located at the North Sea, and Hannover with its industry to the South of Germany, like the airport in Frankfurt, the large city Munich and to Austria and Italy. So, this line has much long-distance passenger and freight trains. In 1990-06 the high-speed-line (in the map in red) was opened for express trains, but during night time freight trains are using this line also. This concept is different from other high-speed lines e.g. France or Japan, which only have high-speed trains.
