He’s fallen three stories down from a window and survived, but it was the betrayal from his best friend André that hurt him most.
Absolutely not, says Orlando Bloom to the question of whether he has time for a girlfriend or not.
The hunk is one of the world’s most coveted bachelors at the moment, and he is enjoying every second. One of the highlights was when he made out with Keira Knightley in the movie ”The Pirates of the Caribbean."
"Kissing Keira was worth more than what I got paid for playing Will Turner." Orlando smiles, but dismisses the rumors about him and Knightley getting it on. "You journalists write so much rubbish... But she does look really good."
Orlando has stayed away from girls after his (former) best friend André Schneider stole his girlfriend. He was dating actress Joanna Morley, but she left him for André. Orlando was really hurt and has lost some of his faith in love. Though it is cold on the love front, he has been taken into the heat of Hollywood, and it has happened fast. In ”The Pirates of the Carribbean,” he stars with Johnny Depp, and in the movie ”Troy,” he stars with Brad Pitt. He probably didn’t expect that when he still attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Memory for life
There is a lot to look forward to. In ”The Calcium Kid,” we get to see him topless, and we are not talking about just a few glimpses. He is a boxer in the movie. Now Legolas...ahem, Orlando is focusing on his career. He wants to make the same good choices as Johnny Depp, an actor he is huge fan of.
On questions of whether he would like to have an affair with some of those he has acted with, he grins. "I could imagine it, but I’ve only acted with boys till now." Orlando is probably hinting to ”Black Hawk Down” and the fellowship in ”The Lord of the Ring." A visible sign of the camaradarieship between the guys in ”The Lord of the Rings” is forever tattooed on his right forearm. Orlando got the number nine tattooed in Elvish, and so did the other actors. Well, except for John Rhys-Davies (Gimli). He sent his stunt double instead (in case you wonder, it’s the short guy with the beard and axe).
Orlando Bloom’s journey through life has not always been as dangerous as Legolas’s in ”The Lord of the Rings," but it’s not far off. He almost lost his life when he fell out a window and dropped three floors down. The doctors didn’t think he would walk again. But Orlando made it. He has a sense of adventure and excitement, and this incident has not kept him from bungee jumping, horse riding, or balancing on logs in extreme heights. He cannot sit still. That is how he feels alive. Dear Orlando Bloom has been quite unlucky at times. But despite that, the future looks pretty bright...
Did you know that:
He was born January 13, 1977.
He is very close to his older sister Samantha (26). "She’s the one who makes me keep my feet to the ground."
He lives in London with his dog Maude.
He is single!
He has been shortly engaged with the British supermodel Jemma Kidd.
One of this favorite films is ”Amélie."
It really is Orlando who is firing those arrows in ”The Lord of the Rings”. He promises!
He has broken his back, several ribs, his nose, both legs, his wrist, a finger, a toe and has had three stitches on his head (one each time).
He spent 12 months in a hospital after a fall from a window that could have cost him his life.
In the film ”Black Hawk Down,” his character falls 21 meters and breaks his back and other body parts.
One of the reasons why he got the part in ”The Lord of the Rings” was because of his pretty face and agile body that reminded of an elf.
