Moonlight And Cherry Blossoms: The anime opens with NIT (Nekomi Institute of Technology) student Keiichi on telephone-duty for the older students. Since he's hungry he tries in vain to have some food delivered to him. Irritated, he dials a number at random and is surprised to hear that he's reached "The Relief Goddess Office." He's even more surprised when, moments later, Belldandy magically appears through a mirror on the wall, telling him that she'll grant him a single wish. After thinking a bit, he wishes for someone like her to stay with him forever. Belldandy interprets this as Keiichi wanting her to stay with him forever... After she has granted Keiichi his wish, Keiichi's sempais (senior students) arrive, and they are thrown out of the student dorm - no females are allowed. They go apartment hunting without any luck, and end up seeking cover from the heavy rain in an old, derelict temple. Belldandy is exhausted and faints, having drained her powers saving them from crashing into a car. After searching through all his stuff for something to dry her with, he gives up and covers her with the only blanket he has. Since he hasn't got anything to dry himself with, or any more blankets, he faints. When Belldandy wakes early next morning, she is shocked to see Keiichi lying ill on the floor. She cries, and blames herself. "It was for me." Using her powers again, she heals Keiichi and walks outside. There, calling on the temple's memories, she restores the temple to its original, beautiful shape. Later, when Keiichi awakes, Belldandy tells him they've received permission to live there. Wasting no time, they get to work on furnishing the temple, spending a lot of money in the process. Keiichi is worried about how little money they've got left, but Belldandy tells him that problem will soon be solved. Belldandy stands up to get some tea and Keiichi follows to help. He slips on an empty can, and they fall in the classic love story position. And, just as they're about to share their first kiss... "Oooops! Bad timing!" Megumi, Keiichi's younger sister, arrives... Megumi asks to stay with them for a couple of weeks while she's apartment hunting, and Keiichi reluctantly lets her. She then hands him an envelope containing ¥40,000 - the money was really for use while she was apartment hunting, but since she's staying in the temple, she won't need the it. Then suddenly all the senior students show up outside the temple - they want to have a party to celebrate Keiichi and Belldandy's new place. Later Keiichi walks outside to relax a bit from the party and Belldandy comes out to join him. Sitting there in the moonlight, they enjoy each other's company while the air is filled with cherry blossoms... Midsummer Night's Dream: It's now summer, and five months have passed since Belldandy came to Keiichi. Not surprisingly, Keiichi's younger sister - Megumi - is still staying with them. "I like Belldandy's cooking," she says. Naturally, Belldandy is happy to hear this, but Keiichi is less than thrilled - he wants to be alone with Belldandy, of course! Later, Megumi asks Keiichi where he and Belldandy have been this summer. They've been at home, he answers. Megumi isn't particularly thrilled by this answer, and tells them she's been to the beach twice this summer. Belldandy has never been to the beach, and would very much like to go. Keiichi can't swim, but his desire to really get close to Belldandy takes control... Before leaving for the beach, Belldandy goes shopping. Megumi also wanders off. While they're gone, Keiichi opens a mysterious package that arrived for him in the mail that morning. To his surprise, it contains a video tape entitled Sexy Dynamite Part 2. Putting the tape into the VCR, Keiichi is treated to the view of a rather sexy woman's body. He's even more surprised when the woman crawls out of the TV screen and introduces herself as Urd - Belldandy's older sister. She tells him he has to take advantage of the beach trip to get closer to Belldandy. The beach is the perfect place for those "body attacks," she tells him, before leaving. The beach!! Keiichi is waiting for Belldandy to arrive, when suddenly Urd pops up from behind him. She asks what Keiichi intends to do. "Uhm, I was thinking about holding her hand..." he answers. "That won't do!" Urd exclaims, and hands Keiichi a small bottle. It's some of Urd's Special Suntan Lotion, which will make the person it's rubbed on "hot." Belldandy returns, and Keiichi nervously asks her if he can lotion her body. "Of course," she says and lies down on her stomach. Just as Keiichi is about to apply the lotion to Belldandy's skin, Sayoko - NIT's official Babe - appears from behind, and says hello. Nervous as he is, Keiichi is startled and drops the bottle of suntan lotion; and Urd's first plan drains away... We now cut to a scene out on the sea; Belldandy and Keiichi are alone in a rubber boat. When Belldandy tries to walk over to Keiichi's side, she falls, and Keiichi tries to catch her. They fall down in the boat, next to each other. But their first kiss is yet to be completed, as Sayoko and her fans almost run them down with their cruiser. Keiichi, displaying an impressive lack of ability to swim, sinks like a rock, but is saved by Belldandy. Later. Keiichi is lying unconcious in bed, and Belldandy sits next to him, blaming herself and crying. Suddenly, Keiichi wakes up and tells her it's okay, she mustn't blame herself. But Belldandy still runs away, crying. Urd appears, and tells Keiichi it's HIS fault - he's not giving Belldandy enough of his love. She then hands him another magic potion, which will make his courage grow a 100 times and make him fall passionately in love with the first girl he lays his eyes upon. Keiichi drinks the potion, and collapses. However, Urd's plan is once again fouled up by fate, as it's not Belldandy who arrives first to his room - it's Sayoko! She wants to apologize, since it was partly her fault - after all, she did almost run them down with her cruiser. Because of Urd's potion, Keiichi is completely lost, and he hears himself telling Sayoko he loves her, and that it's her he wants, not Belldandy. It's the potion speaking, of course, not Keiichi, and internally he's screaming for Urd's help. Unfortunately, Belldandy arrives just as Keiichi says it's Sayoko he wants... Belldandy begins to cry, and says she'll go back to heaven if that's what he wants. This is too much for Keiichi, and he screams out in pain while staggering away down to the beach. Belldandy follows him, and tries to help him. Suddenly, the empty bottle the potion was in falls from Keiichi's hand. She sees it, and immediately knows this is Urd's doing. Urd materializes when Belldandy calls on her, but can only tell her the potion's effect is irreversible. Belldandy cries, and says she's give up all her powers as a goddess in order to have Keiichi back. She then kisses him. To Belldandy's surprise and relief, Keiichi awakens, returned to normal! They embrace each other, and look out over the moonlit sea. Urd watches this lovely scene for a while, before departing. However, she's blasted back to the earth, with the message that she's for the moment prohibited to return to heaven. She will have to stay with Belldandy, Keiichi and Megumi... "Well, with two goddesses, it will be twice the fun," Keiichi sighs... "So it seems!" Urd says, and they all break out into laughter. Burning Hearts On The Road: The OAV opens on Skuld chasing a bug in the Yggdrasil system. She finally nails it, but just to discover that there are several more. On Earth, Keiichi is chosen to represent the auto-club in an intercollegiate drag race. He is left alone to fit together all the pieces to his motorbike. Belldandy is making a cake in the kitchen and is singing. Bored, Urd joins her and offers to help. As she is not patient enough, she tries to use her powers and... blows up the bowl of cream she was making. She is not made for such simple tasks, she says and goes to offer help to Keiichi, who is working on his motorbike. This time, she blows the engine that he just put together. Discouraged, Keiichi goes to take a bath. While he is there, Skuld materializes from the water. Surprised to see him, she knocks him out with her debugging hammer and screams. Everybody is around the table to eat Belldandy's delicious cake. Skuld apologizes to Keiichi and formal introductions are made. Skuld is unhappy. She thinks Keiichi is a little too friendly with her sister and she cannot understand why she has accepted such a contract. With both her sisters being on Earth, she feels alone in Heaven. Belldandy explains that she stays not merely because of the contract. She wants to stay with Keiichi as long as he wants her. Tamiya-sempai comes to see how Keiichi's work is going. He also brings a new twin-engine. Keiichi is unhappy since the first engine is already half finished and that a twin-engine will be too unstable to improve the performance much. Aoshima arrives also to boast and make fun of his competitor. He also woes to Belldandy. A mysterious agreement between him and the sempai is mentioned. Skuld is intrigued by Keiichi's designs, but finds a lot of flaws in his calculations. She cannot resist the temptation to redo them incorporating the new twin-engine and reinforcing the frame. With those new designs, Keiichi and Megumi can finish assembling the bike. When Skuld asks him how he does feel about Belldandy, he answers that he has never been happier than since she became part of his life. At the race, Aoshima is impressed by Keiichi's work on his bike. We finally learn that the sempai and Aoshima agreed that if the latter was to win the race, Belldandy would become a member of his racing club. Keiichi is angry, but Belldandy is confident that they will not lose. At that point, Skuld realizes that if Keiichi loses, Belldandy might come back to Heaven with her... And we see Skuld enter into the tent where the bikes are... Keiichi wins his first race, but he complains about terrible vibrations. The team decides to make some last minute changes to improve his condition. Aoshima Racing Team improve their score with the best time of the race so far. They probably made some changes on their engine. After more rounds, Keiichi is still doing well, but the shaking has not stopped, so more improvements are made. Aoshima comes again to boast. Their driver is the best, he says, and Keiichi should surrender now. Belldandy replies: "The Goddess of Victory does not look kindly on people like you, who can only see a duel with a winner and a loser. She smiles upon those who always have the burning desire within them." If Keiichi keeps such a burning desire, he will be lucky. Keiichi adds that after all, he has already three goddesses on his side! Belldandy kisses his helmet as a victory charm and he is off for the final. Keiichi still has vibrations, but Aoshima Formula has an engine failure and Keiichi wins! After the race, Belldandy spots a nice ring in a jeweller booth. Keiichi wants to offer it to her, but he forgot his money in his coat. Urd and Skuld finds it pathetic that he could not even buy her a gift. Belldandy says it's OK, but Keiichi is sorry. Skuld sticks out her tongue to Keiichi and tells him that she still hates him. |
