Disc 04
Reason / Promise

Reason:
BT hears of Mimiru and Tsukasa’s fight and goes to talk to Mimiru. Bear joins them, mentioning he’s looking in the outside world for clues and he’ll let her know if he finds anything. Mimiru runs off. Later we see her sitting by the treasure chest where she first met Tsukasa. She thinks back to their initial meeting and wonders why she met him in the first place. Hoping the treasure chest may lead to some answers, she opens it, only to find it empty.
Back by the save point, a small freaky looking girl asks Mimiru if she wants to go to the dungeon, Kurmina Gadelika. Ambitiously naïve, she says she has goals she wants to accomplish, but no one in the game has any goals. They just seem to wander around killing time. The girl confides that she’s been playing for two weeks now and finds it boring. Mimiru asks why she wants to go to Kurmina Gadelika with only two weeks of experience, and she answers that she wants to know what it’s like. Mimiru finally agrees to go and we learn the girl’s name is A-20.
In the dungeon, A-20 asks why this game is fun – isn’t it work getting into others affairs. Suddenly a monster appears and as Mimiru goes to fight it, she watches in horror as A-20 starts taking healing potions after only one hit. A-20 confesses that she’s actually only been playing for a week. Mad that A-20 lied to her, Mimiru teleports out of the dungeon leaving her there.
This starts Mimiru on a quest to find a reason for playing the game. She asks BT about it. She also talks to Subaru, who is frustrated that she can’t join in the Knights’ search for Tsukasa. Mimiru tells her that she feels she should, then she should look for him as well.
Having a change of heart, Mimiru teleports back to Kurmina Gadelika to find A-20 almost dead. Mimiru heals her and asks why she plays. A-20 tells her that she originally started playing with her classmates A-3 and A-13, and now she wants to prove to them that she can do it. With that as inspiration, Mimiru and A-20 clear the final stage and enter the final room. The prize inside is a Golden Kuchigusa, a statue that greatly increases stats. Mimiru tells A-20 to keep it to show off.

Promise:
This is another episode where virtually nothing happens. Episodes 7-8 are Mimiru’s ‘growing up’ and undergoing a change period, but if so, it’s very subtle.
So Mimiru messages Tsukasa, asking him to meet. She tells BT that she’ll wait for Tsukasa until he comes. BT says that waiting is a very difficult thing to do. And so she waits. A man comes up to her and makes a joke that she’s waiting for Godou, but she doesn’t get it. Sora stops by, mentioning that the BBS posts that a swordswoman is waiting for someone. He waits with her until he gets tired and then leaves.
Everyone is looking for information on Tsukasa. BT and Bear think Tsukasa has his own place that only he can access. They send Sora looking for answers. Subaru and Kinkan contemplate that it may be a bug in the system. BT talks to Subaru about investigating something called the ‘Great Flow’. BT then sets up a partnership with Kurim to investigate the legendary Key of the Twilight, which may hold answers to this mystery.
Finally, after contemplating in solitude, Tsukasa meets Mimiru. She tells him she has decided to protect him.
The Feminine Voice says something to the effect of It’s done. Tsukasa doesn’t know anything. The book that fell is destroyed… Hope leads to despair. Things should get more interesting now.
