Jamming With Edward: Somewhere deep in space, a satellite starts shooting lasers on to the earth and carving designs into it. The police believe that it was the work of a hacker, and put an an 8 million woolong bounty on whoever the hacker is. Faye and Jet get ready to go find this bounty, but Spike decides not to. The police try to track down "Radical Edward", who is the hacker, and they find a young girl. She hacks into the police's ship and blows it up. Once the police are gone, the girl finds out that the Bebop is tracking down Radical Edward. So Faye and Jet go down to earth to find info on Edward, but end up with nothing. Meanwhile the girl finds the satellite that drew all of those pictures on earth and finds that the computer is lonely. She introduces herself, and it turns out that she is Edward. She names the satellite MPU, and finds that it drew all of those designs because it remembered the designs from long ago. Then, MPU's system gets jacked into by the police, so Edward hacks into the Bebop's computer and agrees to give them some info, for a favor. She tells them that MPU did those carvings all by itself, and that the bounty is for the computer. Edward then tells that they can get MPU by going into space and downloading it, but they must fly and use lasers manually, or all of the other satellites will kill them. Spike agrees to do it, and so he goes off to get MPU. But the satellites pick up his signal and start shooting. Spike finally downloads MPU, so Ed makes a copy to give the police. Edward's favor that she wanted was for the Bebop to pick her up as part of their crew. They try getting away, but Edward hacks into the ship, and brings it to her. Then, as it would turn out, the police decide that they can't give bounty for a computer, shucks howdy! So, no one is happy but Edward. Ganymede Elegy: When Jet is ready to go back to his homeland of Ganymede with their latest. Jet uses his connections with a cop to get some info, but ends up remembering his bitter old days. The old days of Alissa, the girl he left behind when he went off to be a bounty hunter. He stops off at her old bar, "Le Fin", and meets up with her again. He tells her all about his brand new job as a bounty hunter, and she introduces him to her new boyfriend, Rent. Rent learns that Jet's a bounty hunter and starts freaking out. You see, Rent has a bounty on his head. He then continues to conjure up his old memories of the loan shark he killed. So, Rent gets Alissa and tries to get them both away from there so they can escape. They get on their boat and start driving off. But before they get too far, Spike sees them and chases them off in his ship. Jet tells Spike to let him handle it, and then he goes off to chase them. After a long high-speed water / air chase, Jet catches them and lets Rent get taken by the feds. He then has a touching goodbye with Alissa, and goes off to his next adventure. |
