Questions/Answers about me

Questions shamelessly snurched from Daniel in the Lion Pit. Had to fix the typos in the questions, otherwise I'm more than happy to take responsibility.

Stargate SG-1 Questions

Late August 2002

Who is your favorite character?
Tanith. I LOVE the character, utterly divine the way he's so devious. Peter Wingfield nailed him just right. Second probably Zipacna, Martouf and possibly other Goa'uld and Tok'ra. Of SG-1 it'd be Daniel I suppose.

Who is your least favorite character?
Can't think of one. Urgo? Don't really give a toss about Teal'c and most of the stars either? Skaara was pretty useless, too. Ultimately I'd probably have to go for lieutenant Hayley though, never liked her.

Are you a shipper? What do you think of the J/S relationship?
Nope. Couldn't care less and I didn't want Sam anywhere near Martouf either. Shooo! ;)

Do you prefer Daniel with long hair or short hair?
Much the same, once again. My ex-flatmate loved him with the long hair though so I'll say long for her sake.

Your favorite episode?
Anything with Tanith and Zipacna. I love the way Tanith looks in Between Two Fires but otherwise prefer him in Exodus, all sly and haughty smiles despite being a prisoner, taunting Teal'c. I love all the continuity eps which tell us more about the symbiotes and how they function with the hosts.

Your favorite season so far?
Fourth? I think I'll have to say 5th because of Between Two Fires and Summit/Last Stand. Then again, third had Crossroads and Pretense... ;)

If you could go out for dinner with any of the actors, who would you choose and why?
After everything I've said above, do you need to ask? Considering who the site focuses on, do you need to ask? Otherwise I'd probably choose Amanda Tapping, 'cause it'd be nice to get to know her, not get accused of fan-girl gushing over men or anything. :P

What are the most sexy bits about RDA, MS and CJ? They have sexy bits? ;) Well ok, they do, but I'm not too bothered. Shanks is most to my liking of those 3?

Are you member of a fan club? If yes, which one, and if not, which one would you join?
Not a member and wouldn't join. I haven't found anyone I'd be that interested in? I contemplated joining Karl Pruner's fanclub but have yet to take any action, so I most probably won't be joining that either.

Do you read fanfiction? If yes, who is your favourite author?
I haven't got time to read fanfiction, relying on Net cafes and libraries for access to the Internet. When I do read something it often ends up being slash some friend of mine has pointed out. Funny and sexy at best, boring and pointless at worst.

Other Questions

Do you have any nicknames? Nyks Meresger. Some of my friends in Finland called me Grandma (Anna), the friends being Mary and Jesus. LONG story and a highly complicated family tree, stretching from hindu gods to New Kids on the Block. ;)

Favorite salad dressing? Can't stand salad dressings, think they destroy the salads.

Favorite food? Chinese, some Finnish stuff like peasoup and meatballs with mash? Chicken.

Do you drink alcohol?
Are you buying? ;)

Do you still have your tonsils and your appendix?
I was six when the Tok'ra removed my appendix-symbiote. Still got the tonsil one. ;) (Who wrote these questions anyway???? And why am I answering them???)

What shampoo do you use? No idea. I'm not a shampoo freak in the brand sense, use whatever I happen to buy that works.

What color is your lipstick? No 7's Hickory it seems. Rimmel's Wine as lipliner right now. Pinks don't show on my lips, need something dark or pure red. Royal Red, plum, magenta, dunno.

Do you wear boxers or briefs? Knickers, thank ye... Silk, red and teddybears on them right now? *grins* Not that it's any of yer damn business.

Favorite color(s)? Red, black, silver, dark green, violet. Purple/magenta when it comes to hair and clothes?

Have you ever been convicted of a crime? Not that I've noticed.

Have you ever committed a crime? Nothing I'd have got caught of? Nicking stationery, jaywalking, under-age drinking, what do you want?

Do you believe in god? What's your religion?
Is that Christian God or Goa'uld false gods? ;) I have faith, in my own way, but don't fall under any specific religion, apart from having been born into a Lutheran/protestant country. As to the false gods, yesh, how could I not believe in such divine creatures? ;)

Best internet friend(s)? Can't think of any right now. Used to know Marrael, Pest, LordDream and several others from #Krynn but can't get on IRC now.

Least liked internet person(s)? Not involved in a Net community closely enough right now to be able to think of any. Say everybody.

Do you sleep on one pillow or two? One. Not too thick either.

Do you have pets? I'm allergic so can't really have any. I'd like a big black dog, which I wanted to call Colonel at one stage, and a female one called Major? And the names come via S:AAB, not SG-1, long story. Probably wouldn't name them that anymore though. Joshua? ;) Something between a labrador and a rottweiler? I don't see any point of having a cat around, enough of one myself.
Oh, oh, forgot! I definitely want a bright red king snake one of these days, think they're utterly gorgeous creatures and won't grow too big to handle either.

Jedi or Yoda? -Is this a trick question? Yoda is a jedi.

Favorite type of music? Favourite bands/singers?
U2, David Bowie, Queen, Madonna, Depeche Mode... I like Adam & The Ants a lot. Culture Club, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Duran Duran, Soft Cell, Eurythmics, Siouxie & The Banshees, Sting, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Annie Lennox, No Doubt, Skunk Anansie, Radiohead, Echo and the Bunnymen, Christians, INXS, Paul Weller, Nine Inch Nails, Cure, Concrete Blonde... ??? Not sure and loads else. A long list of fave songs from one time.

Hobbies? Reading, drawing, painting occasionally, writing stuff, dreaming, hanging on the Internet, trying to go to the theatre when I can, movies, wasting time in different ways and currently hunting down information about KD any way I can.

What was your first car? I don't have a car. Never did. I never saw the point of wasting money on something as useless as that when I can get from one place to another much more easily with public transport, at least in London. I can sort of understand needing a car somewhere like in the middle of nowhere in Finland, or LA, but I'd still prefer public transport, hope it was better.

Favorite season? Autumn.

Words or phrases you often use? Whatever. Something Like That =SLT.

Words or phrases you don't use enough? I love you. / That's a good idea.

Is there somebody you have a crush on?
Unfortunately no. Unless you want to accuse me of having a long distance one on KD, in which case I'll promise to simultaneously blush dutifully, look all innocent and deny everything.

Piercing, branding or tattoos?
A small kanji tattoo on left shoulder ("Ghost". A long story). Mean to get Nyks written in the original Greek at some stage, as well as a red Cobra logo if I ever get round to it.

Coolest thing someone ever gave you?
My mother's uncle, the hermit of the family, sent me a Mayan amulet made of silver when I graduated. It's not an antique, but it has the Mayan Calendar Stone depicted on it and he'd got it 20 years before that. The message I got with it was that he'd waited that long to find someone worthy of it. It's even cooler if you connect it to Zippy's Mayan origins. ;) There's a picture of me wearing the necklace though the amulet itself isn't very clear in it.

Most romantic thing that ever happened to you?
I can't think of anything. Very sad.

How do you characterize yourself?
Someone compared me to the crab from Sherman's Lagoon when I was in my grumpy mood. I'd like to point out that's in my GRUMPY mood, not necessarily otherwise. Garfield combined to Marcy, Snoopy and a bit of Lucy (when it came to my little brother, not sure how it goes with having crushes on Schroeder-equivalents... *grins*) from the Peanuts?
Otherwise, just go read the three ANSIR profiles for Evokateurs, even if you may have to do the test yourself to get to them. Thinking, Working and Emoting sides, all 3 Evoks in my case. Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes is supposed to be an Evokateur by the way, as is Owl from Winnie the Pooh, not to mention Snoopy.

Family?
Not close. "Dysfunctional". A fussy mother plus one younger brother who just had his first kid. Father has issues with both my mother and me for some reason, I have minor issues with having such a father.

Favorite ice cream? Chocolate or strawberry, possibly also pear or "tiger"/lemon?

Favorite drink? Coca Cola. No diet, no Pepsi, no other Colas. Bizarrely enough, I prefer it warm and with some (if not most) of the bubbles shaken out first.

Favorite vegetable?
Broccoli? Brussel sprouts?

What is your bad time of day? Morning. I'd outlaw them if I could.

What is your bedtime?
If I have to follow other ppl's schedules, I try to go to bed by midnight at least. Otherwise I go to bed when I feel like it and get up likewise. 7am to bed and sleep until 7pm or something. A night owl who needs a lot of sleep.

Adidas, Nike or Reebok?
Couldn't care less.

Your perfume/cologne?
Don't wear one usually due to allergies. Cheapo 17 bodyspray called Dream right now. Strangely masculine scent in some aspects actually. I'm not too keen on anything too strong though I really don't feel like a floral person either.

Favorite movie?
Star Wars trilogy comes to mind first off, but I think The Usual Suspects is far better, actually. LOTRings, Natural Born Killers, Strange Days, Crow, Labyrinth, Samurai Fiction, Suicide Kings (now that's smart), Rocky Horror, Hammer's Draculas, Devil's Advocate (no to Keanu, yesh to Pacino), Dangerous Liaisons, Fifth Element, spaghetti westerns (especially The Good, The Bad and the Ugly), Hudsucker Proxy, Con Air. Ghost World was pretty interesting, too. Wings of Desire. Matrix?

Which movie touched you the most?
None of the above are really movies that "touch" anybody. NBK was very romantic actually, Crow was meant to be tragic but wouldn't say it touched me. I don't go for romantic comedies or such crap, though I'm a huge sucker for old musicals, Fred Astaires etc. There have been things which have made me cry, just can't remember any right now. If you want something that impressed me recently, I'd have to go with the Mommy Market, a movie I'd never go for normally, just happened to see most of it on TV last week. It was impressive because I didn't realize it was Sissy Spacek doing all 4 Mommy roles until I saw the credits. I don't normally like her, but GOD, that was impressive, bow down to the skill and craft.

Favorite TV program?
Most of these have been cancelled already but here goes. For scifi: Blake's 7, Red Dwarf, Total Recall 2070, Space: Above and Beyond, Third Rock From the Sun, Farscape, all Treks in different ways, Lexx, B5 (and Crusade), Visitor very partially, Battlestar Galactica on certain levels and parts of Stargate SG-1. Red Dwarf and 3rd Rock again for comedy, BlackAdder, Monty Python, Big Train (or whatever it was called...) and several others I can't remember right now.
Otherwise, Buffy (or as it should really be called: "Spike, with a bit of Giles") Robin of Sherwood, Peter Benchley's Amazon, Dark Shadows (the newer version), Xena, and in cartoons the 80's faves G.I.Joe, Transformers, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and several others.

Favorite subject in school?
Art. English? Keeping in mind my first language is Finnish, literature falling under that. I was good at anything theoretical but have an interest in history, reading, nuclear and astrophysics, cellular biology and genetics, chemistry, religions, philosophy, psychology... So choose one. But only in part, very specific areas of interest in each so I never chose one to follow as a career.

Least favorite?
Math? No, had to be sports and the "knitting class". Both teachers sucked and I sucked in both so it was a bad combination. If you get a better grade when your face is slapped in the local paper for getting bronze in a judo competition though nothing in your physical abilities has changed, there's something wrong with how you're judged.

What books of Shakespeare did you read? ("Will wrote books? Damn, I missed something there.") See following:
What books of Shakespeare do you like best?
Like the person at the other end of the link up at the top pointed out, I didn't know he wrote books as such. Beating the dead? Oh well... A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, Hamlet perhaps, Richard III for sure but otherwise my Shakespeare is too patchy to say. Bits and pieces from here and there, sonnets... I like Shakespeare and always fail to see why English speaking natives whinge he's difficult to understand. I'm a foreigner and I can bloody hell make some sense of Chaucer, too, so what's so difficult about Will? *mutter mutter*
I'm not too keen on his Romeo and Juliet though to tell you the truth, not always the most sympathetic to some hysterical 13-year-old brat who thinks she's in lurve, though the play has its plus sides, too. I have a major romantic streak but it's not always the obvious things which bring it out.

What book do you read at the moment?
Nothing right now. Last book I read was Neil Gaiman's Coraline.

Did you have imaginary friends as a child?
Not that I recall. I did see my Mikki mouse toy in the ceiling at one time though and I swear I wasn't dreaming.

What was your favorite toy?
My Cobra Commander doll/figure, which my parents got rid of at some stage? *sigh*

What was the happiest moment in your life?
I don't know. Very sad again. I was thrilled to meet Neil Gaiman for the first time but it wasn't happy happy as such. The blissful moments of thinking how blessed I am to have gotten to London and seen and done all the things I have?

What was the saddest moment in your life?
The usual "Maybe we should just be friends" line and the following 7-12 months after that.

Favorite alcoholic drink?
Hooch? The girly alcopop stuff, orange and lemon flavours, an original gin mixture thingy called Long Gin or lonkero from Finland, vodka, whatever.

Beer: When I was 16 I was on a cruise where we had nothing but beer to drink. I'd take a minimal sip, grimace, say "Gahd, I hate beer" and to get rid of the taste eat a salted peanut, then go "Eugh, I hate peanuts" and so on and so forth. I don't mind SALTED peanuts nowadays but I still won't go anywhere near beer. Eugh.

Wine: Don't really drink wine either. I'm uncivilized and prefer sweet ones, too.

Mixed drink: Vodka and Coke or Bacardi Cola? Doesn't matter as such. Tia Maria with Coke was interesting for a while, not sure if I'd still like it.

Most humiliating moment? Can't think of one straight off.

Favorite holiday? Halloween.

What makes you angry?
Injustice? Constant irritation from people who won't take a hint?

If you could send somebody to the moon without a return ticket, who would that be?
Why would I send anybody to somewhere like that? It'd be fun to go to the moon... There are much worse places to send them to.

Are you married? Do you have kids? Nope and don't plan to get married in the near future either, nor to "breed" in any way if I can help it.

What do you look for in a partner?
Someone who can make me laugh, someone fairly intelligent. That's what I fell for the first time, too. I value loyalty and can hopefully steer clear of workaholics the next time I fall for someone.
