WOODLAND PARK

Now known as the Whittier Narrows Nature Center, Woodland Park was occasionally used for filming during the early years.

The site bears little resemblance to its filming day counterpart. The "swamp" area was cleaned up, dredged, and the Army Corps of Engineers built the San Gabriel River Channel through that area of the property.

I was told by one of the volunteers at the site who helped in cleaning up the site for its use as a nature center that they found the remains of old Klieg lights.

DIRECTIONS: From Los Angeles, take the 60 Freeway east. Exit at Peck Road but do not turn onto Peck Road. Turn right onto Durfee Avenue (that is the street which the offramp stops at). The entrance to the park will be on the left.
