LOS ANGELES METROPOLITAN AIRPORT

The Los Angeles Metropolitan Airport is now known as the Van Nuys Airport, situated in that latter city. The art deco control tower seen in the films was demolished in the 1960's.

The airport is located at 6590 Hayvenhurst Avenue, west of Woodley Avenue, between Roscoe Blvd and Vanowen Street. The hangar seen in "Casablanca" is no longer on airport property, but still exists at 16217 Lindbergh Street. This is the rear of the hanger, the front (the filming side) faces Waterman Drive.
