X-files

This game has several X-file. to be exact there are 41 X-files. The nice part is that they aren't equally divided over the several charactariatical items.

For the most, only the Affiliations are set at 20% per affiliation, let's see how the rest is devided.

Here is a list of all the combinations that there are:

What is a combo?

A combo is a series of cards from your hand that you use to stack the odds in your favour. Or more precisely a series of cards to wipe out the opposition. Although some combo's require special cards, there are plenty of opportunities to really hurt the other side. To do this you basically need to kill a opposing agent. This is one sure way of setting the scales towards your victory. Now we will forgo the 'Kill' cards for Weiss and partners. They are expensive in use, however the effect often makes it worth your effort. No, we must look at Mulder, Scully, Skinner and Krycek. Those guys are strong and taking one of them out of the game can be a true asset to your achievements. (and it pisses off the opposition in no small way).

One of the card To keep in mind is Natural aging. The card is a Uncommon card and therefor not difficult to acquire. Each card diminishes the agents health 1 point on a permanent bases. To avert this the enemy needs SCIENCE 4 or better. Scully has 3. Skinner, Mulder and Krycek have a lot less then that. So without Scully, or Sculy alone, you can use this one. If your lucky you can start this from turn 1. If you are succesfull the adversaries become a lot more dangerous to the enemy. Darin Perter Oswald, The Sandman, The Mechanic and the Crew cut man can then thin out the opposition. Especially Darin with long range combat of 8 is a nice one to use. That card is Rare, the others are uncommon.

X-file statistics and how to get the X-file of the enemy fast

The affiliation was the base of the X-file list. This one is set pretty equal, 20% per item. However, let us take a look at the other properties, we'll see a interesting shift here. With Motive there is little shifting, however both Ideology and Survival make up for almost 50% of all the cases. Security is a lot smaller. With Method Violence and Subterfuge take up just over half of all the X-files.Manipulation is the smallest group here. Result is by far one of the most interesting shifts in properties. Death takes takes up to a third of the X-files. Determining if Death is the result can be very interesting. For the rest of the game.

Looking at the results the following approach can be used.

1. Ask for Death as result

Result is death
Yes 32% unknown
No 68% unknown

2. If Death is not the case, then ask for either Motive is Ideology or Method is Subterfuge.
Either takes away a quarter.

Method is Subterfuge
Yes 32% unknown
No 17% unknown

You see, after two questions only one third remain. Fun is that if you have the card Deep Throat, then you will have a stiff advantage over your opponent. He'll need to be pretty lucky to win from this point. (unless he has read this article as well. From here the quickest way is to ask another result question. Ask for Physiological Imbalance will make you strike of nearly half of the remaining X-files. After that the choices are pretty even.

So to connect the dots a little more. After two question you could have the following remaining X-files to check.

So at worst 50% of the options are gone, at best 92% of the options are gone.
