♦ The song that Randy (Sam Raimi) sings was also featured in The Evil Dead(1982). It was written by Raimi for a band he once had.
♦ The "head in one hand, sandwich in the other" speech was previously used in Raising Arizona (1987).
♦ It is based on a short, Super-8 film made by Scott Spiegel called 'Night Crew', which had a more Michael Myers-esque killer. According to Josh Becker, no fragment of the film exists today.
♦ This film was later screened for Moustapha Akkad to try and convince him to let Scott Spiegel direct Halloween 6. He didn't get the job, but Scott Spiegel was relieved, as he said the screenplay was horrible.
♦ In one shot of Jennifer, you see a bunch of boxes that say Helping Hand. It might be a coincidence, but Scott Spiegel had previously made a Super-8 film called 'Attack of the Helping Hand', which later served as inspiration for the Evil Hand scenes in Evil Dead 2.
♦ The budget is estimated to be a mere $100,000.
♦ The film was inspired by Scott Spiegel's years working at the Walnut Lake Market in Michigan.
