Glorfindel
(The one who really saved Frodo!)

Little could be found on Glorfindel but these are the the few things I did find on him.

Passages from Barrowdowns:

......Glorfindel was riding Asfaloth along the East Road when he found Strider and the four hobbits making towards Rivendell. As a precaution, he put Frodo into Asfaloth’s saddle. This turned out to be very wise, for when the Black Riders attacked the group, it was only by the speed of Asfaloth that Frodo won through to the Ford of Bruinen.....

.....Finally, just as the pain was overcoming him, they met Glorfindel, an Elf-Lord of Rivendell sent to find them and aid their journey. Glorfindel inspected Frodo’s wound but could do little but ease the pain. The Elf set the ill hobbit on his horse as a precaution should the Black Riders appear......

....Just as they reached the Ford of Bruinen they were overtaken by all nine of the Black Riders. With the aid of Glorfindel’s horse Frodo escaped the wraiths, commanding them to return to Mordor, but he swooned at the last, unable to hold himself up any longer through the anguish caused by the wound he had received on Weathertop.......

.....With uttermost valour, the elven lord Glorfindel slew a Balrog in single combat;.....

In many long struggles, the Nazgûl were eventually able to take the capital of the North Kingdom, Fornost, in 1974, but were driven back the succeeding year by troops led by the Elven Lord Glorfindel, whom even the Witch-King, Lord of the Nine, feared.
