Episode 58 "Mortal Coil" |
|
Korriban: Rival made a hologram but the gatekeeper comes up as Ryo
who tells him to rely on his friends. Obroa-Skai: Soul is going about his day in the big city of Obroa-Skai, saying good morning to various citizens. They ask if he's heard any interesting news today. He shares that the Laundry Chute Children Assassins struck again on Taris. They ask if Soul will be sure to share anything new he learns. He promises them he will. Soul has a cerebro-like supercomputer that he is using to comb the galaxy for the largest threats. There are videos of Compnor, Red Comet, the hutts and others. Soul starts to glitch before he is pulled into a short conversation with Sin. He's failed to live up to his end of the bargain in their merger. He must save Rival. The other threats will still be there to defeat when he is done. Toydaria: Norton and Blenderbot are researching ways to try and help Rival with a famed Toydarian doctor but it just isn't working. Everytime they solve one issue, another one unravels. Soul tracks them down. He knows what they need, but it won't be easy. Blender-Bot suggests picking Rival up on the way so they can administer the cure as soon as they manufacture it. Korriban: Rival is picked up, surprised to see Soul. Asks how much of Sin is in there. Intends to get to know him a little better while they are traveling. Norton's Ship: Soul explains that ever since Sin met Rival, he tasked part of his programming to compare old and new data to come up with a way to help Rival with the negative effects of his rapid cloning. Slice had experiences Sin did not and he had information the other needed. Once they were merged, he was able to compile the data into a working solution; the mortal coil. The coil emited a form of radiation that, rather than causing tissue damage or mutation, instead caused cells to correct the damage each time they split. The species eventually stopped using the technology because life lost its meaning over a long life span, but for someone in Rival's condition it should give them a normal life. Nortan has thoughts. Norton is also needed to implant the coil into Rival once they retrieve the artifact and its component pieces. Rift: Get transfusion coil from rift ruins, encounter archaeologist jawas. Thyferra: Get special bacta from Thyferra. Rival says bacta and kolto feel like the most stereotypical treatment ever. Lurm: Get mycopram from a mysterious trader on Lurm. Mycopram was a beauty cream in use during the high republic, but it was also used to prevent animal experimental test subjects from melting. The trader thinks they must really need the cream given that they are all wearing masks. They compare notes after trader wanders away that their final destination is Alzoc III to synthesize the catalyst and implant the coil. There is leftover fabrication tech there that they will need. Alzoc III: Rival isn't doing well, nearing the end. He's reflecting on his life with Soul. Soul shares with Rival the fact that Alzoc III is where Okami recruited his stormtrooper army. Norton says that it'll take a few hours for the serum to complete and he's going to use that time to fabricate a more comfortable suit. Rival asks if the system would allow for a custom design to be input. Blenderbot says he can upload the parameters Rival requests and have it ready by the time the surgery is complete. Norton in his new uniform, blenderbot working over Rival. Norton emerges, tells Soul the surgery was a success. Rival emerges in his brand new uniform. Having accomplished their mission of saving Rival and giving him renewed purpose, Norton decides that there isn't any more reason to stay in the Imperium. It is time to become a Norton Without Borders. He and Blenderbot set out as freelancers to provide their services in exchange for research funds and to stir the pot as needed. Soul comments that he's found his own direction, but what will Rival do? Go back to the Imperium? Rival says he's been running from himself long enough. Being a spy and investigator is in his DNA. Ryo is held back by his adherence to the rules and ethics, but he has no such compulsions. It's time to learn just what makes COMPNOR tick. Obroa-Skai: duneeden_city,

Episode 59 "The Great Escape" |
Senate: The senators are furious. They demand to know where Mon Mothma
has stashed Ray Hobb. Her delays are not satisfactory. Chancellor Quain
disappeared without warning to go on a fool's quest. Is the position
cursed? Where is Ray Hobb? Dremas: Pyke and Gottal guards talk about hating being on guard duty, deliver food to their prisoners including Ray Hobb and Sneezo. They make fun of him. He rolls with it, playing along. When they leave, he stands up and starts fidgeting with the cell. ||Flashback to cutscene of him dealing with the dismantling of the forcefield generators used at Okami's ship building facility. One of his troops got himself locked inside. Ray says just a minute, I'll short it out.|| The forcefield snaps off. Ray and Sneezo get out. Sneezo is currently in withdrawal but remembers the way around from when he was a vendor for Red Comet. Smoke Den: (weather effect for smoke) The Pykes comment on the current state of affairs. The Wrill's plants are growing and needing to eat more often. Something feels wrong about a plant that eats meat. Ray and Sneezo navigate a few hallways before coming across the spice mines of Dremas. They are going to have to climb their way up and avoid getting crushed by the grinder. Sneezo licks the rock walls for a contact high. [Flashback to Ray's general days] Ray and Sneezo make it to a ship, getting in and powering up. Sneezo says he'd normally distract the guards with his stash but they'll need to figure something else out. Ray says he has an idea. ||FLASHBACK: Door 2 jettisons cargo into space|| "Let's see if that's the same on every ship." [NPC spawn drop cargo onto the guards from above] Ray knows they are likely trackable. He needs to get someplace close where he can defend himself while getting word to RID. [Flashback to Fin talking with Latte Dodd about the hidden planet of battle droids.] The ship takes off and is pursued by others. Ray Hobb arrives on battle droid planet. After looking around a bit, he finds and activates them to defend them both. The droids ask if he is a separatist. ||Flashback: Ray is in his office, learning that Valorum and Palpatine instituted countless standing orders and Palpatine took it a step further by programming them into the armies of both sides to ensure his victory no matter what. Some of the orders are mundane, but others were as big as Order 66.|| Ray tells them to execute order 80. The droids recognize that Republic gave in to separatist demands and reunification has taken place. They stand ready for his orders. The Pykes land and order Ray to surrender himself. "I don't think I will." Battle droids attack and decimate the Pykes. Ray takes their ship, having disabled the first one he stole, along with a droid he named Ricky. The ship flies away toward the horizon. Ricky asks where they are going. Ray says somewhere that won't be any worse off if he leads anyone there. ||Flashback to Fin talking about Mon Calamari|| Mon Calamri: Ray lands at the old RID base. Mon Calamari's own planetary defenses will hold back any capital ship, but they need to beware any stealth ships or single fighters. Sodan emerges from the water, fights his way past defenses before reaching Ray Hobb. Ricky and Ray fight him until he is forced to deploy a personal cloak and escape, his honor damaged. Ricky says another ship is approaching, but it belongs to RID. Mothma and Ray are reunited. Ryo and Fin are impressed that Ray saved himself by remembering their missions and reports. Episode 60 "The Poisoned Sun" |
Yooliuh: A slice of life on the
planet, people going about their distance. The sun fluctuates. A droid
detects a spike of very dangerous radiation. Alarms start going off. An
alert: Take shelter or leave the planet immediately. People die. Kadano: Ryo and Fin are sparring with lightsabers to practice in the Dojo. A Republic Wide alert announces an immediate mass evacuation emergency for the planet Yooliuh due to an impending period of exotic radiation from the system's sun. All Class 3 and above Republic Ships are ordered to assist in the evacuation, including the Intermezzo. The staging area for relief efforts will be the Incom facility above Mersailles.
Indignation: Mothma holds a
briefing. Every able bodied ship able to carry more than 20 passengers
from both the Republic and the Imperium are standing by to help move
citizens off of Yooliuh, but they don't know where they'll be moving
them or for how long. As such, RID will be pulling in every asset it can
to come at the problem from a variety of angles, including bringing in a
planetary expert as a new member. Fin and Ryo speculate who it might be,
only to be surprised by the fact that it is Iseah.
Ellakin and her yacht will be escorted by two scientists to see if there
is any way to stabilize the star.

Episode 61 "Nuts and Bolts" |
|
Cold open: Red comet attack on mustafar, droids destroyed and fallen into lava. Ryo is doing a repair workshop on the various RID droids, especially SM. I5 reports on the general morale of droid employees. Iseah tells Ryo at the end they have a mission. Red comet struck Mustafar. The damaged droids are being thrown away or recycled. Iseah comments they are just going to toss them away. Crig is very status quo. No personal stakes either way. Ryo doesn’t like the way the droids are being treated and feels enough is enough. Ryo visits Chancellor Ray Hobb to discuss what it
would look like to bring the issue of droid rights before the Galactic
Alliance. Ray’s advisor, Ricky, calculates the odds of success with the
various members and thinks that Crig is unlikely and that Stan would act
as a swing vote. Hearing about Ryo’s political machinations, a Hutt representative would like to speak to the group about the merits of having a disposable workforce. Besides, citizens wouldn’t know how to live without droids, society would collapse. They depend on them for menial tasks. Ryo counters that droids that are treated well often choose to remain in their daily tasks and can exceed the limits of their original design like I5 and SM. Those that achieved awareness and did not want to stay would only be less efficient than going off in pursuit of their own better destinies. The Ugnaugts Refurbish Union is opposed because
droids left unchecked can cause havoc. They have spoken. But Jawas are
all for repairing droids. Ryo talks with some droids. Some droids are
concerned about being replaced with organics on worlds that can’t afford
them or repairs or on worlds that fear that droids can be violent.
Droids don’t want to be replaced. They have a lot to contribute. Humans
don’t ask that much of them. Helping droids is the least they can do.
The prohibition of restraining bolts and memory wipes should come out of
conversations during the episode with droids talking about their
identities being erased or being prisoners in their own bodies.

Episode 62 "Taco Tuesday" |
Kadano: Mon Mothma summons Ryo
and Fin, assigning them important undercover work. Fin is excited. They
haven't been able to go undercover for some time due to the various
wars. Mothma sends them to the planet Chad, homeworld of the bat-like
Chadra-Fan. While smuggling and contraband are all too common in the
outer rim, their contact on Chad mentioned that recent illegal activity
seemed to have connections to Red Comet before going radio silent. Given
the Chadra-Fan's high food intake, they will go under cover with Blooby
as food vendors. Chad: Ryo and Fin arrive in a more conventional transport. Blooby explains that he once served a 31 course meal at a Chadra-Fan wedding. Ryo confirms the interference is still preventing any holonet connections that route to the New Republic, but he has the coordinates for their stakeout and hopefully their contact. Non audio scene of vehicles on the roads. Arriving on scene, they find that their contact is Sylindra! She is working the Taun Taun Taco Truck outside one of the Chadra-Fan refineries. After putting on a bit of a presentation to some of the Chadra-Fan, she expresses thanks to Fin. It has been a lot easier to get work without the thrawned up charges of a corrupt republic general hanging over her. Fin introduces Sylindra to Ryo. Serving food to more Chadra-Fan, Sylindra explains that Chad's main export is fertilizer, used both for agricultural worlds as well as blasting jelly for the mining guild. Various qualities are refined at various facilities across the planet, but Red Comet seems focused on the higher grade. Sylindra had been scoping out the joint, getting a feel for the schedule. SM offers to help with scope doing recon. They will sneak inside the refinery. Refinery: The facility is large, the group will need to split up into two teams. Sylindra and Ryo, Fin and SM. The first few rooms reveal Chadra-Fan working (Ryo and Sylindra). Bottomless pit of crates (Fin and SM). Ryo and Sylindra come across a Dianoga in one of the rooms. Meeting back up, they spot an ORSHA inspector (Exa Mina) going over the facility. Unsafe compactors, lack of guard rails, bottomless pits of crates, and the facility seems to be producing weapons grade fertilizer. The Red Comet agents get more and more annoyed until they kill the inspector. Fin steps out to arrest them but they rush to escape with the contraband. Street chase with Red Comet speeder, Taco Truck and Chad police. Confrontation at the port, the ore is seized and Red Comet arrested. With the Taco Truck returned to its original parking site, Chadra-Fan celebrate by ordering more food. Blooby is happy to serve all. LEGENDS
Legends of the Past "Sylindra" |
[Eight Years Ago] Audio of Sylindra talking about her childhood with underwater footage. Sylindra lost her mother at a young age and her father was a successful diplomat. He wanted his daughter to receive a good education and sent her to the finest school on the island. Since the school was above water, most of the students were rich Anselmi brats. Sylindra was a bullied outcast and had to learn to be tough and independent. She was teased for having to speak the common language, in which she wasn't as fluent as her native Nautila. A group of mean girls played pranks on her, like submitting fake poor-quality or obviously plagiarized assignments in her name. She learned her data slicing skills by staying a step ahead of them to intercept and remove these pranks from the school's network. After graduating, she was happy to leave the land behind and move back to her old Nautolan society under the sea. But having been away for years, she found it hard to reconnect and find new employment or friends. Her father's professional connections did not interest her. She ended up leaving Glee Anselm entirely to seek her purpose in the wider galaxy. Having little resources, she scraped by doing odd jobs that put her technical skills to use. Cut to military office with her working with New Republic Intelligence. Skeezy general assures her that her efforts will be put to good use for the good of many. Pleased to have her on the team. (Tariscantina): Show Sylindra on the job with U2 (pre-paint job) [Six Years Ago] (Tatooine_SJC) Another job down the line, things aren't adding up. The information doesn't seem to be getting to the right destination. Sylindra investigates and realizes it is all going to the general's private database. She starts investigating him. Sylindra goes to confront the General. He's been selling the sliced data to the highest bidder rather than giving it to the Republic. He compliments her on her attempt, but her account very clearly has the illicit funds for all the data she sliced and sold. The funds will be seized by the New Republic and he has her arrested. Her droid will have a memory wipe. Arrives in prison. Deadpan warden, doom and gloom. Meets Wabashitosh Talo, a young Togruta that wound up on the wrong side of the law. When U2 shows up to save Sylindra, they hatch a plan to escape using slicing and acting. The prison escape. Learning that Sylindra escaped, the general puts out a bounty. Sylindra is wanted for high crimes against the New Republic, data smuggling. She will never be able to get an honest living again so long as he lives. (Tatooine_SJC) Sylindra offers for Talo to join her. He says that they may cross paths again some day but he wants to lay low. As a parting gift, though, he repainted U2 for her. [Six Months Ago] Sylindra is being hunted down by Republic Security Droids. Soul steps in and disables them. Sylindra asks why he would help her. Soul says that in another life he was responsible for processing and understanding the weight of a life. In analyzing hers, he sees there has been a great injustice. Helping her recover from her past might help him atone for his.

As an indentured servant, Eros is looking for any way to shorten his term commitment. Skabooli the Hutt takes an interest in Eros. Offers to hire him as her private dancer, a dancer for money as well as taking seven years off his contract. Eros politely declines. Skabooli unpolitely says if he will not take the work she assigns to him, then he will no longer look nice enough to work for anyone. She orders her guards to cut off one of his Lekku. Ill, weak, feeling lost with life. Comes across Tuya Sopo. Tuya knows an up and coming Dug scientist who can come up with a prosthetic to rebalance Eros. Eros asks why anyone would help him? Tuya says that the ledger of the universe must be balanced. If he does a nice thing for Eros, Eros might provide services to the Pyke Syndicate when they need it. Eros and Tuya meet with Buldulba. Eros is a fine specimen. He is certain he can build him a supplementary Lekku. In fact, he might start a business called Lekku a Plenty! Eros feels whole again, though a bit vengeful. Tuya says that is quite good, as those that wronged Eros have also wronged the Pyke syndicate and they have another chance to work together. Episode "To BB or Not To BB" |
Ellakin is presenting
the BB3 to potential buyers. The droid powers on, declares its
intentions to kill and murder, proceeds to cause mayhem and destruction.
Ellakin is convinced it is sabotage and enlists the aid of RID to help her root out the source. Signs bring them to Ellakin's rival, the head of the R-Series astromech droid. She is weighed down by the legacy of the R series, its triumphs and failures, its ups and downs, the inexplicable bugs and chasing the glory of the past. The R7's were pretentious and single purpose, the R8's did well, but the universe always wants something new, something better. Investigations interview a variety of droids, even a few being studied from LesTech, the rival to Industrial Automaton. It turns out that the R9 is capable of self-enhancing its self-preservation routine and hiding information from its operators. It sabotaged the BB-3 to protect itself and its chances of being used. |
