BATMAN

ROBIN

TWO-FACE

THE RIDDLER

OTHERS

Like Vicky Vale (Kim Basinger) of Batman 1 (1989), Dr. Chase Meridian doesn't play an integral part in the film and ''serves'' simply as a beautiful ornament, simply decoration. Unlike Vicky Vale, her origin is not from the comics but she was created for the film. Her part as a psychiatrist in Batman Forever is not much more important than that of Vicky Vale as a photographer in Batman 1. While doing her job she meets ''accidentally'' both the Batman and Bruce Wayne at different occasions, and (of course, of course) she falls in love with both of them although she can't quite decide who likes more. Well, her part can't be compared with that of Catwoman from Batman Returns, but at least Kidman's Dr. Meridian is much more intelligent, beautiful and hot than Vicky Vale. She is alongside Catwoman the sexiest character in the Batman movies (remember the bedroom scene?).

Only one man besides Batman truly understands the war zone that is Gotham City's underworld, and that is Commissioner James Gordon. Batman is a mystery to Gordon, but there's one thing the Commissioner can depend on - Batman's commitment to justice.

Michael Gough's warm and wise Alfred is crucial in helping us accept Kilmer as Bruce Wayne. It is so much easier to believe that Kilmer and Keaton are the same man when we sense Alfred's paternalistic affection for Kilmer's Wayne.
