Jedi Communicators

Don't leave home without 'em! Although very outdated by this time, Jedi Knight Jyn Axarel has a strong sense of nostalgia and can't bring himself to part with the older, shorter range model.  Instead, he has made some "special modifications" of his own to extend the range.  Much to his chagrin, the modifications don't always work.

Lightsabers

"This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight... an elegant weapon for a more civilized age."

Axarel saber

Jyn modeled this saber after legendary Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi's own saber- of course, with a few more "special modifications."

Jecht saber

This lightsaber once belonged to the late Sarcon Jecht, Jedi Knight and Governor of the Gemma system.

The weapon was entrusted to his daughter, Rikku, who carries it around, but refuses to wield it.

Jedi Utility Belt

How else are they to port around all the junk they carry? This one happens to belong to Jedi Jyn Axarel.  Note the old-fashioned food capsules.  More modern models are more compact and have less fat and cholesterol.

Dowel Rods

The initial dowel rods were 5/8" in diameter and 36" long from emitter to tip.  After breaking way too many when we thought we weren't hitting very hard at all, we switched to dowel rods of the same length, but with a diameter of 1".  They are a bit heavier, but still manageable.  The blades were wrapped with the saber's corresponding color to ease rotoscoping later in post-production.

Don't worry, there's more to come...
