Jwaar Bhaataa is not talked about very often for its songs.
Its chief claim to fame is that it was Dilip Kumar's first
film. But make no mistake. It is a stellar soundtrack,
among the very greatest. Anilda's creativity unleashed
Aurat, Basant, Roti, Hamaari Baat, Kismat, Pehli Nazar,
Milan in quick succession. Jwar Bhata belongs every bit in
that great chain. It is the only film which has been
featured on all 4 CDs of the Denver - 2001 commemorative.
An undercurrent of Kalyan runs through the featured song.
Instrumental pieces in the song have a hypnotic quality.
Shankar Jaikishan, Madan Mohan and O P Nayyar were all
gifted at orchestration but they bulldozed the lovely,
fragile style heard in this song out of existence. Parul
Ghosh's contribution to the song is brilliant. Her voice
also comes across as a thing of fragile beauty.
