1. CHARTER The White Wind Charter can be found here.
    Quote:
    We seek and strive to:
  2. Help Others
  3. Discourage Anti-socialism
  4. Encourage Grouping
  5. Promote Excellence and Humility
  6. Have Fun!
  7. Avoid Distracting Members & Ourselves from Real-Life Goals
    1. Help Others
We as a guild are dedicated to helping others within reasonable expectations. White Wind members are not so self absorbed that they are oblivious to the plight of others. We are willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Often we are willing to donate items to new players or buff, bind, and heal fellow travelers; all free of charge.

    2. Discourage Anti-socialism
White Wind members seek out others to be sociable with. We make our best effort to talk with people and overcome the antisocialism that plagues Everquest today. We feel that effectively making us of the social aspects of the game can add significantly to the enjoyability of the game.

    3. Encourage Grouping
Everquest, by design, focuses on grouping. With the experience bonuses added for grouping, we believe it doesn't make much sense for many classes not to group and group often. White Wind encourages lower levels to learn and practice basic grouping skills, even if they feel they don't need to. We have and encourage ongoing discussions on grouping strategies as well as regular opportunities to group with guildmates. Regular multi group raids will take place for the mid and upper level members to further our grouping efficiency.

    4. Promote Excellence and Humility
We want to set ourselves apart from other players and guilds by being the best we can be. We desire to have a guild of master tradesmen, fighters, and spell casters. Excellence is a personal decision, and as White Wind members we have made that choice; but by making that choice, we will not succumb to egotism or conceit. We will carry our excellence with humility because we know that great deeds are recognized by action, not by words.

    5. Have Fun
White Wind members are dedicated to have fun. We will not get so caught up with the need to level, comparisons to others, our own selfish desires, and other petty and unimportant things while loosing touch with the real reason we play Everquest: to have fun. If we can't have fun playing Everquest then we shouldn't play.

    6. Avoid Distracting Members from Real-Life Goals
If you really enjoy playing Everquest you may find yourself spending a lot of free time playing. Play as much as you want. We encourage you to evaluate your priorities. Never ever, let Everquest or White Wind get in the way of your studies, or work responsibilities or your relationships. Do not neglect your families or friends. Your body also needs good food, plenty of sleep and regular exercise.

Any raids you have attended prior to your application does not count toward your 4 raids that are required. You will need to contact our members to find out what raids we have planned and be sure to let the raid leader know that you have applied to join us. Extensive grouping with the guild members is also very good... we get to know you and you get to know us... Be sure to let us know you are an applicant when asking to join us for raids and groupings. It will be your responsibility to add the four raids you attended to your joining post before you will be invited. It is also the applicant's responsibility to keep their application active and up-to-date.

Step 2d: At least 4 full members of White Wind must vouch for him/her before the applicant will be considered. One of the 4 sponsors MUST be an officer of White Wind. Step 3: A White Wind officer will confirm with sponsor their willingness to vouch for prospect. The officer may also confer with the prospective member's previous guild leaders, if necessary.

Step 4: Finally, the recruiting officer will provide new member with a list of Leaders/Officers and instruct them to go to the members-only forums of our Message Board and write a little summary about themselves and any skills, etc which could be of a benefit to the guild. Oh...they might even give passwords to these forums and *gasp* use the /guildinvite command on the new recruit .

            30 Day Trial Period

The trial peiod allows 30 days to make sure you fit in well with us and they we fit in well with you. We have a no tolerance policy for our new recruits, so if you are found to commit serious violations to our guild rules or are a problem causer you may be /guildremoved. Bad apples are like cancer and can spread problems throughout the guild.

You will also only be able to invite one character (your main, no alts will be permitted). It is also expected that you show up to most guild functions that you're online for.

Effective 1 May 04 - At the end of your 30day probation a vote by the officers of White Wind will be taken. Your probation can be extended or you can be asked to leave White Wind. Braeuuin
            Quakr

            Removing oneself from White Wind

If a member of White Wind removes him/herself from the guild, and wishes to rejoin White Wind....they waive their rights as a member of White Wind and must go through the process of rejoining the guild. You will also lose any raid points you have earned. Leaving the guild is not to be taken lightly and could jeopardize chances of rejoining. The Council will vote on your re-entry, and let you know the decision in a timely fashion.

Thanks again for your interest in joining White Wind.

            See you in game

          1. Section I - Recruiting Officer's Procedures can be found here.
            Quote:
Remember, you're only responsibilities lie with the new people in the guild, and interested prospects. Here's a reminder of your duties:

            Duties:

            1. check joining forum regularly... follow up on sponsors... invite new people using a system we make for them so the new recruits are brought up to speed on all the revelent info.

            2. PR with the guild members. Especially the new recruits... Check in with them regularly to be sure they are happy. Answer any questions or concerns they may have and notify the council of any problems that may become serious.

            3. Help out with minor guild chat problems.

            4. Also, if someone comes to you while no other officers are online and they have a problem (like from another guild or whatever), the only thing you need to do is get names of who to contact, and give them names to contact later. Let that person know that when one of the counselors logs on, you'll inform them of a problem and they'll get right back to that person.

Keep up these qualities within yourselves as well, and maybe work on the ones you don't currently uphold :)

-Good PR skills. Communicate well with others in a friendly manner.
-Shows up at guild events regularly. Must set a good example! These are the times we all get together and hang out.
-Comes to the message boards regularly and is involved in the discussions there. MB are our main source for communication with each other.

*This is a guide for inviting new members. They should have posted on our message board and they must have 4 sponsors (one being officer) with full membership, 4 raids, Eb item (not spell), Seb key, insta clicky item and Gate potion. They must link Seb key, worn eb item, insta clicky item and gate potion to you before invite. This is all the info you need to give them before inviting.

            1. Repeat our Guild Charter:
              *Help Others
              *Discourage Anti-socialism.
              *Encourage Grouping
              *Promote Excellence and Humility
              *Have Fun!
*Avoid Distracting Members & Ourselves from Real-Life Goals

            2. Tell them that they will need to work on building a positive reputation for themselves with our guild members. They will not automatically become friends with everyone. It takes some work, but the rewards are well worth the effort. Help out when others call for help. Show up to as many events as you can. If you do these things, when you need help, the support will be there.

            3. Tell them that when they log on, do a /who all white wind 50 60 (or whatever level range you are). See where everyone is at and send direct tells to see if they could use you. This works way better than asking in /gu.

            4. Let them know they are on a 30 day probation period. In that 30 days, it gives them a chance to make sure they like the guild atmosphere and the people in it, and gives us the chance to see if they fit well in the guild. At the end of the 30 days they will voted on before becoming full members and can invite their alts.

            5. Tell them about the password for guild forum and guild bank. Let them know they can withdraw from the guild bank after their 30 day probation. They can donate whenever they want, however. Tell them the guild banker names: Crowd and Shanoah.... and the 6 bank characters: Whittlee, Whittlae, Whittnee, Whittless, Whittlass, Whittnaa and Zargo our bank trader.

            6. Ask them not to say anything until you've presented them to the guild in guild chat. Tell our guild members you are about to invite a new member and to get ready to give them a big welcome.

            7. /guildinvite ... Announce in guild chat "All welcome , our newest member ... " or something similar, but make sure to put their name and class at least.

            8. Welcome them aboard and let them know if they have any problems, they can contact you or any of the officers.

            9. Go back to the message boards and post your name, and the date invited under that person's post. Close the post. Also you need update the Guild Manager and add Main and invited date.Once you have invited the applicant:

*Add Main-Invited ?/??/?? beside their name on Guild Manager

When you come to the boards:

*Post on application date you invited and by who and make sure all needed info is posted on their app (4 raids...etc)
*Close application DO NOT MOVE PLEASE
*There is a post in RO forum called "New Member Initiation Date". This is where you must post their name, lvl, invite date and sponsors.
This is the list I go by when their 30 days are up and I post it in Guild Issues

Congratulations again, and THANK YOU for your interest in helping the guild just a little bit more.

If you percieve the lack of interaction to be a means to extend the members probation, please vote for Item B and explain this in a reply. *** Note: If a single Guild Remove vote is cast, with an explaination, a revote shall be triggered. In the case that a Guild remove vote is cast, it is highly suggested that we all engage in a discussion of the recruit as so to educate ourselves and to make a case for the applicant one way or the other. The revote should be done as expiditiously as possible, where a single Guild Remeove vote shall result in an extension, and any more than one remove vote shall result in the members removal. The purpose of the revote is to give everyone an opportunity to change their vote based on the subsequent discussions. 2. RL's will be given access to the forum for the purpose of voting on member's 30 day trial. 3. If an applicant's 30-day trial is extended, a new vote will be posted 1 week prior to the end of their extension. A GC will explain to the applicant why their probation is being extended so that the people can correct themselves. See Number 1 for votes. 4. A third extension can be granted on a case by case basis. A max of 2 Extensions (90 Days total) on the probation are allowed. If in 90 days the person has not shown that they fit into white Wind then they do not belong. This will be added to the joining requirements. Effective 1 May 04, at the end of your 30day probation a vote by the officers of White Wind will be taken. Your probation can be extended or you can be asked to leave White Wind. If any person's probation is extended or they are asked to leave White Wind, a Guild Council member will contact the player and explain the reasoning behind the decision. [/quote] V. CONDUCT 1. Section I - Communication Channels & Freedom of Speech As a general rule, we respect each members right to voice their opionions. Whether it is in /gu, or on the messageboards. There are a few things however to be kept in mind. Guildchat is NOT a public channel. Each member has the right to express their opionions or otherwise in any manner they choose, but as a PRIVATE channel, members and officers alike reserve the right to ask that any discussion be taken to another medium. The idea that someone that does not want to listen to your view can turn off /gu is not a valid argument, as it is their right as a member to have a guild communication means free from material that they find grossly offensive. The beginings of any discussion is acceptable in /gu, so long as you respect the request of any member or officer to move or cease the specific discussion at hand. Any discussions in a private channel of your own creation shall not be subject to any moderation by anyone, as it is each members right and responsibility to control access to these channels. /Raidsay, your groupchat on White Wind raids, and the wwraid channels shall be subject to the same rules as guildchat. Your right to free speech in PUBLIC channels is exactly that. You have the right to express yourself any way that you so choose in /ooc, /say, /shout, /auction etc. However, As long as there is a White Wind Tag below your name, your actions represent the values and actions of this guild. While you do have the absolute right of free speech, you do not reserve the absolute right of guild membership. 2. Section II - Griefing The term Griefing describes any of a number of offenses, including, but not limited to the unwarranted use of Verbal Harrassment, Training, and Kill Stealing. White Wind has a very low tolerance to the harrassing of other players. If you feel as if your being taken advantage of, or are being the recipient of Griefing from members of other guilds or non-guilded players, please involve an officer as early as possible to protect yourself. Members found to be guilty of the use of unwarranted Griefing shall be dealt with in the strictest terms. It is not a requirement, but is highly suggested that you keep your EQ experience logged in order to assist officers in resolving conflicts involving griefing. You can also use screenshots to present as evidence to help resolve these issues. You can enable the logging feature by loading the eqclient.ini file into notepad and changing the line that reads LOG=FALSE to read LOG=TRUE. 3. Section III - Larceny Larceny is defined as : The unlawful taking and removing of another's personal property with the intent of permanently depriving the owner; theft. Any action representing an action of theft shall not be tolerated whether it is against a fellow guildmember or another EQ player. Blatently decieitful practices including hacking, bidding on raid items with intent to sell for profit, withdrawing items from the guild bank to sell for profit, borrowing items or platinum from guild members with no intent to return or repay, and ninja-looting shall not be tolerated in any form, and may be grounds for guildremoval. 4. Section IV - Treason White Wind has moved into an element of the game in which many of the desired activities are heavily contested. We request that our members not assist other guilds or groups of people in obtaining guild targets that we as a collective desire. While we do find it acceptable to have alternate characters in smaller family oriented guilds, we ask that all of our members remove any characters that are in guilds that we are likely to compete with for any given activities. We also ask that our members restrict access to their characters from players who are members of guilds that we are likely to compete with. If a situation exists to this extent, and there is not an obvious resolution, please ensure that officers are aware of the specific situation, as such that some form or preventive measures can be established to more aptly prepare everyone for the posible consequences 5. Section V - Respect Respect means a lot of different things. On a practical level it seems to include taking someone's feelings, needs, thoughts, ideas, wishes and preferences into consideration. It also means taking all of these seriously and giving them worth and value. In fact, giving someone respect is about valuing them and their thoughts, feelings, etc. It also includes acknowledging them, listening to them, being truthful with them, and accepting their individuality and idiosyncrasies. Respect can be shown through behavior and it can also be felt. We can act in ways which are considered respectful, yet we can also feel respect for someone and feel respected by someone. Because it is possible to act in ways that do not reflect how we really feel, the feeling of respect is more important than the behavior without the feeling. When the feeling is there, the behavior will naturally follow. Show Respect to all of your fellow guildmembers even if you disagree with them. Everyone is entitled, right or wrong to their own opionions and beliefs without fear of being harrased or belittled. Freedom of Speech and Respect often breach the same ground, and it is important to remember that in a guild atmosphere, Respect is the more important of the two items. 6. Section VI - Reporting and Disciplinary Actions A member found in violation of Guild Bylaws and/or Charter can and shall be repremanded by the Guild Council. Information divulged to council members shall be kept in Strict Confidence amongst the guild council, and used to build a case to determine the appropriate disciplinary action. It is the responsibility of Guild Council to Investigate all reports of Misconduct. Once all background information is collected, the Accused shall be confronted with the evidence against him until such time that the council determines that all the pertinant information is available, or would not be any more forthcoming. At this time, Council will put forth a suggested disciplinary action to be voted on, including but not limited to - Forfeiture of Raid Points, Extended Probationary Periods, Temporary exclusion from guild events, Execution, or Guild Removal. Information obtained by the guild council in regards to Member Violations shall be kept in the strictest of confidence. The accused/perpetrator's rights and integrity shall be preserved unless the integrity of the decision of the council is publicly questioned specifically by the perpetrator.
