Overview:

A new heavy mech designed to be thrust into the heart of any battle, the Slugger was inspired by the likes of the Clan Summoner and Capellan Lao-Hu as a general-purpose mech. It can stand its ground in a toe-to-toe brawl or be used as a fast strike mech to exploit breaches in enemy lines.

Capabilities:

While it may have been inspired by the Summoner, the Slugger (as is the case with many IS designs) cannot match the firepower of Clan machines. It does however, match their speed and manouvreability and mounts more armour.

It is at its best in short and medium range combat, where its medium lasers and LB 10-X autocannon do most damage, although its Artemis-augmented LRM rack means it cannot be ignored at range. Good heat dissipation means the Slugger should stay cool - even when the action heats up!
