Overview:

When the blueprints for this new Snow Raven battlemech landed on the desk of QTI's Chief Designer, it caused more than a few raised eyebrows. However, there are few in the Outer Colonies who question the All Seeing Eye and their methods and nobody was about to look this particular gift horse in the mouth.

Capabilities:

At first glance it seemed an unconventional beast. Mounting a battery of small-calibre autocannon on an assault chassis is not most peoples' idea of good design practice. However, on closer inspection, they realised the 6 UAC2s would be able to deliver respectable damage, even at long range. They also have the added benefit of fast reload times, meaning the pilot can deliver several volleys in the time it takes most other assault pilots to manage a single one. The Deimos' loadout is completed by a pair of LRM15 missile racks, giving it genuine fire-support capability, along with a pair of extended-range medium lasers.

Although powered by a small extralight engine, the Deimos was designed to run hot, allowing it to make use of the MASC system, which gives it a top speed on a par with many heavy mechs. Although the XL engine is something of a weakness, it does carry 13.5 tons of armour, an AMS and CASE II, to help it survive on the battlefield.
