A wet, temperate world, whose main resources are coal, gas and oil, thanks to the decay and compression of ancient forests. Britannia was the first world colonised by the exodus convoys and was named the capital of the Britannic Coalition, with a current population of just over 100,000. The capital city, Westminster is the Coalition's seat of government. The main activities on this planet are mining, agriculture and oil recovery. There is a fledgling manufacturing base, but at present, most of the world's natural resources are exported to other worlds for use in production. Naturally, being the state capital, there is a heavy military presence, with two battlemech Divisions and a mercenary unit stationed a short dropship ride from Westminster. |

| Military Presence: Andromeda Orbital Station |
Newcastle is perhaps the most important world in the Coalition, after the capital. Home to Cygnus Astra and the orbital Andromeda shipyard, this world currently provides the only shipbuilding and repair facilities in the colony. Blessed with an abundance of mineral resources, Newcastle boasts a number of vast industrial complexes, geared towards providing materials and equipment for Cygnus. Militarily, the planet-side defences are on a par with those of St Helens. The Andromeda station also boasts formidable defences, equal to those of any battlecruiser, including two companies of aerospace fighters. |

| Military Presence: 201st Division (Winged Warriors) |
The third of the Coalition's heavily industrialised worlds, St Helens is the home of Coldstream Defence Technologies - the Coalition's prime battlemech producer. A hot, arid world, St Helens has few natural resources but imports raw materials from other worlds to feed its many sprawling manufacturing complexes. It is also heavily reliant on imports of ice from Wellington for its fresh water supply. Naturally, there is a heavy military presence to guard the mech production complex, including a regular BCAF battlemech Division, 2 armour battalions, an aerospace wing and a TA combined arms battalion. |

Another of the Coalition's less industrialised worlds, Wellington's large oceans are home to a diverse array of marine life, which has spawned the largest fishing industry in the colonies. A number of massive desalination plants also supply fresh water, first converted to ice, to the Coalition's drier worlds. There is a heavy military presence, with a regular BCAF mech Division, a combined-arms TA battalion, as well as a fighter wing to guard the vital desalination, purification and refrigeration plants. |

| Colonised: October 3059 |
| Current Population: 40,000 |
| Military Presence: 88th Division (Halifax Hussars) |
With the recent discovery of large deposits of fossil fuels and metal ores, including iron, uranium, titanium and germanium, Halifax is on its way to becoming one of the most heavily industrialised planets in the Coalition. One of the least hospitable worlds discovered by the colonists on their exodus from Terra, it has now been made more habitable, thanks to partial terraforming, allowing people to live normally, outside of the pressurised habitation domes that were needed at first. One of the main centres of industry, it has one of the best infrastructures of any world in the Coalition and consequently attracts many people to work there, despite the less than ideal environment. |

| Colonised: March 3060 |
| Current Population: 30,000 |
| Military Presence: ? |
One of the Coalition's less heavily colonised worlds, Arundel is the home of choice for the nation's wealthier citizens - specifically the continent of Albany, location of the planetary capital. Its temperate climate truly makes Albany a "green and pleasant land". Of course, much of the rest of the planet is also populated, although the equatorial desert regions and polar regions are avoided by all but scientists and explorers. Limited terraforming, in the shape of artificial archipelagos, has been carried out to accommodate the fanciful whims of the Coalition's elite movers and shakers, to create dream habitats. Since the world is relatively poor in terms of mineral resources and fossil fuels, agriculture and tourism are the main industries. |

Another of the Coalition's worlds relatively untouched by the heavy hand of industry, Torpoint is a favoured holiday destination and has a thriving tourist trade. Since the land is largely pristine, except where farmsteads and small-scale industrial estates have sprung up, the planet can boast vast areas of unspoiled natural beauty. Mountains, beaches, forests, deserts, Torpoint has the lot. Porto Bello, the largest resort, is a favoured location for sunseekers, artists and fishing enthusiasts. Recently, an orbital amusement arcade was launched, featuring theatres, shops, restaurants, casinos and a funfair. For stargazers, there is an onboard observatory and planetarium. |

Perhaps the most unspoilt and picturesque of the Caledonian worlds, Nevis is a favoured destination for those who like the outdoor life. With its range of terrain taking in everything from sub-arctic tundra, mountainous alpine regions, lakelands, jungle and savannah, this is a world that truly offers something for everyone. While there is little in the way of heavy industry, Nevis remains an important source of food and water for the rest of the Coalition, thanks to its thriving farming and fishing industries, while its oceans make it a prime location for desalination and purification plants. A regular BCAF mech Division and a TA battalion provide defence for this world. |

One of the less hospitable planets in the Coalition, this cold, remote, marginally habitable world was found to hold large deposits of precious metals and ores that could be refined for industrial use. Since the land is suitable for little else, industry is dominated by extraction, refining and metallurgical companies. Fresh water is in short supply and Falkirk relies on imports of ice from Nevis. The BCAF has yet to station a regular garrison here and for the time being the TA provides a local militia force. |

| Military Presence: 111th Division (Lothian Grenadiers) |
One of the farthest flung worlds on the Coreward edge of the Coalition, Perth was first colonised as an agricultural centre. Since then it has gradually transformed into a major military outpost, with a full mech Division based close to the planetary capital. A significant proportion of the Coalition’s manufacturing output ends up on Perth, one way or another. It has also become an important trading post, frequently visited by merchant ships from other Periphery states. |

The unofficial capital of the Caledonian Cluster, Livingston is the cultural and commercial heart of the Coalition’s “Scottish” sector. Although not rich in mineral resources, its temperate climate is ideal for agriculture. The capital, Hamilton is home to numerous art galleries, theatres and music venues. Its industrial base consists mostly of research and development laboratories and service industries such as transport and communications. At present the planet has a small military garrison, made up of a combined arms TA battalion and an aerospace wing. |

Already heavily populated by native species when discovered, the impact of mankind on Galloway has so far been limited. With large canine, feline and primate populations that are aggressive towards humans, the colonists that chose to settle there, only venture outside their heavily fortified communities when absolutely necessary. Venturing out at night, without body armour and a weapon of some sort is tantamount to suicide. At first, dozens of settlers were killed each year while wandering the planet’s dense jungles or while out in the open at night. The native predators were even bold enough to enter the lightly defended encampments that were first set up and attack them while they slept. The colonists quickly wised up to the threat and began to turn their living quarters into fortress-like structures. They also began wearing protective clothing and arming themselves. As more equipment and arms find their way to the world, the threat from predators is slowly beginning to be nullified, but Galloway still isn’t somewhere you’d want to go for a holiday. |

The capital world of the Coalition’s Irish sector, Antrim occupies a strategic position, linking the other four planets in the Cluster to the rest of the Coalition. The planetary capital Portrush nestles in the foothills of the Carrickfergus mountain range, which covers much of the northern half of the continent of Kesh. With a climate strikingly similar to that of Terra, Antrim enjoys a similar range of terrain types and temperatures. The planet has a thriving agricultural base, but little in the way of heavy industry at present. |

“A jewel of a world” is how the first settlers described Portadown. Indeed, you would be hard pressed to find a planet with more extensive or diverse wildlife. The system’s hot, bright sun, combined with the planet's dense atmosphere and plentiful water, creates a global greenhouse that allows life to flourish practically everywhere. Strange marks on the landscape and unnatural rock formations that hint at dwellings or temples, have sparked theories that the Coalition colonists may not be the first people to settle here. Investigations are still ongoing. Like Antrim, this world has plenty of agriculture, while heavy industry is non-existent. |

Description A barely habitable world, too distant from a weak sun to have a pleasant climate, Tyrone is nonetheless an important world, thanks to its deposits of rare minerals and metal ores. The remotest outpost on the far edge of the Coalition supplies the bulk of such materials as Germanium, Uranium, Titanium, Nickel and Tungsten, to name a few. A cold world, the miners who work the open cast quarries have to endure sub-arctic conditions. The planet does have an adequate water supply…its just that most of it has been turned to ice by the frigid climate. |

Not very different from Tyrone, Belfast is however, closer to its sun and its climate less extreme. With extensive development, it could become another New Syrtis or even come to rival Tharkad, in terms of frigid beauty and majesty. Far beneath the snow and ice lie valuable deposits of metal ores and gemstones, however, mining operations are restricted to the bleaker, more remote parts of the planet, to protect the tundra and alpine landscapes which cover much of the surface. Belfast is a popular winter holiday resort and the capital boasts an open-air exhibition of ice sculptures that echo the memorial park on New Syrtis. |

Caernarfon is one of several Coalition worlds with an Earth-like climate. The capital, located on the main continent of Conwy, is home to a magnificent medieval style castle, built to commemorate the British fortresses of ancient Terra. As well as providing a stunning focal point for the city, it is also designed to serve as a stronghold in the event of a planetary invasion. Industrial activities include large-scale agriculture and small-scale mining and manufacturing. |

| Military Presence: October 3062 |
In a system centred on a relatively cool sun, Rhayader is nevertheless close enough to maintain a liveable, if cold climate. With extensive seas and oceans, the planet’s main industry is fishing. With the weather similar to that of the countries of Scandinavia on Terra, the icy, oxygen-rich waters yield rich harvests. There is some political turmoil however, as large reserves of fossil fuels and metal ore deposits have been discovered by geological surveys. The owners of the fishing fleets are concerned that oil and gas recovery operations will harm their industry, while the energy and mining companies maintain that exploration of these resources is vital and can be done without any significant environmental impact. Governor Powell has yet to make a decision, one way or the other, but with increasing pressure from both sides, she will have to reach one soon. |

With plenty of water and positioned an ideal distance from a strong, bright sun, Anglesey is a lush, fertile world, ideal for agriculture. However, this is partly due to the fact that it is also a highly volatile world. Each of its three main continents and its oceans, are littered with active volcanoes that erupt on a regular basis. In fact, the colonists have nicknamed it Tierra del Fuego after the volcanic region of the Terran continent of South America. Earthquakes are also commonplace across the planet, making it difficult (and costly) to develop any kind of advanced industry. However, the large mineral and metal ore deposits – the legacy of the volcanoes – have led to sustained efforts being made to exploit them. The capital Beaumaris is located in one of the few relatively inactive areas, although it suffers hundreds of minor tremors every year. |

| Current Population: 10,000 |
| Military Presence: 203rd Division (Carmarthen Guards) |
Located sufficiently far from its fiercely burning sun to be hospitable, Port Talbot is one of the farthest flung outposts of the Coalition. Its land and seas provide enough food for the inhabitants, but little more. With little in the way of natural resources, it has become the prime centre for scientific research and development. Most of the main educational establishments and industrial concerns have facilities here, however the largest and most prestigious is the independent Brunel Institute of Advanced Science in Pontypridd. Chosen for its remote location, for security among other reasons, it does suffer from some inevitable drawbacks. It can take weeks for shipments of materials to reach the planet from the Coalition’s industrial centres and likewise, the fruits of the scientists’ labours can take a long time to reach their parent corporations or external customers. |
