I’ve seen several parts
that make up who you are
te closer I get
the more I see that distance is far
if there was just one thing
that I could do
it would be to shorten that span
and take that pain away from you

your pain brings me pain
empathy isn’t dead
to help you get away
and from the shit you’d fled

I see things
that are only a guess
I really don’t know
what brings you distress
I’ll help you run away
go find happiness
maybe not today
but you’ll get through this

your pain brings me pain
empathy isn’t dead
run run away
from the stinging in your head

I love you the way I can
even if it’s not the best
run beside you for a while
stay with you ‘til you find rest
there are many different paths
do you know the way to go
will you look with me to God
I’m sure he will know

your pain brings me pain
empathy isn’t dead
angels be with you
take you where you must be led

I want you to be happy
I want you to know
there is a place out there
where happiness does grow
there are signs along the way
and as long as we aren’t dead
he’ll give us the strength
and we’ll make it to the end

I said we’ll make it to the end
yeah, we’ll make it to the end

your paing is my pain
empathy is restored
if the friendship keeps going
maybe we will never get bored

I give you my hope
faith and love
you still can win
fly away like a dove
I want you to win
and to feel that good
maybe you can bring me along
and I hope you could

your pain brings me pain
empathy isn’t dead
there still will spill blood
stains of crimson red

and when things run out
and the strength isn’t there
we can look to Hime
even if we don’t know where
Jesus knows when we’re tired
and he sends down his love
when you’re too depressed to feel it
know that there’s eros, felos, agape, all of the above

your pain brings me pain
empathy sure ain’t dead
if we can stay together
where there was pain, we’ll find love instead

your pain brought me pain
empathy won’t die
find the way out
please don’t cry

your pain is my pain
empathy isn’t dead
we are weak
ignore the lis you’ve been fed

this poem may be over
but the story isn’t through
it will keep on going
you will find what to do
your pain might bring me pain
but it has to end
and no matter what
you will always be my friend
