Ignoring History by Agent Midnight
Long before we admitted our feelings for each other, I was always fascinated by him. He's still enigmatic to me, even now, I'll admit...but, I can't complain because I've seen his softer side. I know the good he can do. I know what kind of person he is.
Not everyone does.
I want to shed some light.
Heero Yuy is twenty-two years old currently, like myself.
Married, ex-soldier with an excellent work record as being a self-starter and loyal employee. He's currently an active Preventer working in the Silver Bird District, alongside myself; the SBD is the roughest, toughest area in town. Ask anyone..you'll hear exactly the same. Before the SBD, he worked in the Black Vulcan District on Colony L63827-21856427 (a.k.a. L2)
He was a Marine Lance Corporal for two years after the Second Eve's War in an artillary unit. In those two years, Heero fought in numerous small wars involving other country disputes. He was a gunner and a basic grunt; Like me.
A year after he left the Marines, he attended the National Institute of Technology and recieved an Associate of Science degree in electronics (he's a real buff on that kind of stuff).
When he left there, he and myself were accepted into United X-ray co., inc. We did small jobs as service technicians. Basically, we repaired and did maintenance on x-ray equipment all across the Southeast of the U.S. It's hardly the same as fighting in the Wars, but, we sure are proud of it. Plus, it was so damn fun.
Heero decided a while later that he didn't want to work with x-ray equipment anymore, so we packed our things and we worked in numerous local Medical universities as Medical Dialysis Technicians. Heero had a charge position the majority of our time there. It was so fun; we did inventory, ordering supplies, machine repair, water treatment, and quality control. Small stuff that was way below our level of capabilities...it was good to have normal jobs.
We had only worked there for a few months before we both got certified permission to perform some, at the lack of a better word, nursing duties. It's a shame that everyone didn't have the oppurtunity to see him working with patients. If anybody had seen what I saw in those hospitals, these damn accusations would not be in the newspapers.
People would be ashamed if they realized that they had written harsh stuff about such a beautiful person. Granted, he does have his negative points..
Anyone can notice that he's got a delicate characterization about him that well surpasses anything of simple normalcy. I mean, you can look into his woven-glass blue eyes and see an eternity of emotions lost amongst a sea of inner turmoil. He shutters off his inner beauty to allow everyone only bare glimpses of his shattered soul, but it's almost like he has adopted a lifetime's worth of guilt and... because of this, he shows off his physical beauty to keep spectator's temporarily sated.
He gives half of his true self off to get people to leave him alone, but everyone continues to flank around him in wonder.
It hurts me greatly when I see articles in the newspaper that bash his accomplishments and his ideals simply because he is known to be gay, and is married to a man. It hurts me even more when I realize he is getting bashed because the man he's married to is me.
Who am I?
Duo Maxwell; Age, 22.
Now, if you don't know already..I'll tell you a brief little something about myself.
I'm an ex-soldier, and I fought in the Wars with Heero.
I would tell you about my past but, that is no longer a part of my life anymore. I am married to Heero; I am a Preventer. Every job Heero has ever had from Age 15, up, I have been with him every step of the way.
Heero Yuy is a spectacular human being.
He's a wondeful husband.
He's great with children...
He's brilliant.
He's beautiful.
He's strong, and brave.
He's funny.
He's an awesome friend.
He's a compassionate mate.
He's an awful cook, but that's besides the point.....
Now, I'm sure everyone is mumbling to themselves and saying shit like, 'Oh, you're just saying that cause you're his lover..' Wrong. I'm not saying it as his best friend, his husband, or his lover.
I'm saying it as a person.
A person who feels a true hero is not getting the credit he seriously deserves.
Heero deserves honor and respect.
Because he's made history, already.
Does he have to die before people realize that?
