Plant Life

A variety of lush plants are useful when providing a beautiful and stress free environment for your newt. Not only does the animal benefit from the presence of live plants, but it is more beautiful for the keeper as well. 

Plants best suited for newts:

-'Onion' plant

-Amazon sword plant

-Micro-sword plant

-Foxtail, red or green

-Lily pads 

-Didiplis

-Bacopa

-Telanthera

-Ambelia

-Narrow Ludwegia

Notes:

Do not ever use plant fertilizer or peat moss in a newt's tank. The fertilizer will poison and kill the newt while peat moss will stick to its skin and suffocate it.
