This is just some pics of the making of my box. It's not finished yet as I am planning to cover it with possibly blue vinyl. I don't really like the carpet look so I decided to try out vinyl. It should be an easy process, but since I will be redoing most of my trunk, i need to come up with a nice color, and it seems all the arrows will be pointing to blue, although silver would look nice too. It's roughly 1.0 cu feet double chamber sealed enclosure. Don't be shy on using lots of liquid nail and screws. I almost used 1 1/2 tubes of liquid nail and around 70 screws for the whole box. It was a whole lot of screws.
Above - you can see the back side of the door inset handle. I am glad i put this on since this box is very heavy (that is without the subwoofers in yet) and it will just make it easy to transport whenever i need it.
Above - you can see two holes in the top of the box, these two holes are for the speaker terminal cups, and you can also see the handle in the side of the box.
There were no leaks or anything so i started covering it with vinyl and i was very satisfied with the final product. Here are some before and after pictures:
Now here are some pictures of the box before i put the subs in:
So this is my finished box. It was a pain, in terms of finding the right tools, and going to different places to use their tools and stuff. I really love the vinyl look and once i am done with my whole trunk it will look very nice. I think it compares to fiberglass as looks but less painful and quicker to make.
