| I am a 2005 graduate of the University of Phoenix, where I earned a Master of Arts degree in Education and I am a Summa cum laude graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, IL, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, 1996. | |
| I am an avid sports fan, possessing Jacksonville Jaguar season tickets. I also support the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers. Super Bowl XXXIX was a complete success for the NFL's smallest market! | |
| In basketball, I like the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. The Atlanta Braves are my favorite baseball team. I am not too much of a college sports fan, but I do follow the state’s Division I teams (Seminoles, Hurricanes, and Gators). | |
| Currently, I work with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) in Jacksonville, Florida. FDLE is the primary state law enforcement agency in the state. | |
| FDLE is the state’s equivalent to the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). FDLE is organized into seven regions, with the headquarters located in Tallahassee, Florida. | |
| The other six regional operation centers are located in Pensacola, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Myers, Miami, and Tallahassee. | |
| My title is Research and Training Specialist. I am assigned to the Jacksonville Regional Operations Center (JROC) as a member of the Northeast Florida Regional Domestic Security Task Force (RDSTF). | |
| My duties include teaching Florida's Basic Terrorist Awareness Course; Prepare Florida, performing as an Incident Command System (ICS) Curricula Train-The- Trainer, training and performing Qualitative Respirator Fit Tests, managing the JROC 200 seat Conference Center, regional training coordinator for the 160 JROC members, and Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP) equipment and training liaison for the 50 law enforcement agencies located in the 13 county Northeast Florida region (as it relates to Domestic Security). | |
| I came to the JROC from the FDLE’s Criminal Justice Professionalism Program (CJPP), Curriculum and Test Development Section in Tallahassee, where I developed curriculum and certification examination for law enforcement academies and training centers. | |
| Prior to that I worked with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice’s (DJJ) Juvenile Assessment Center in Jacksonville, where I worked from March 1998 to August 2000; the Eckerd Youth Development Center in Okeechobee, FL from June 1996 to March 1998; and the United States Navy, where I spent 20 years (primarily as an aviation technician). | |
