The first one I reccomend is Golden Boy. It IS a slight hentai-anime, but nothing too obscene; mainly it's just sexual comedy with even more comedy. The story is about a guy named Kintaro Oe, who disappeared from Tokyo University in order to study the world around him, but only after completing all the required courses for graduation. Why he didn't graduate along with it, I do not know, but anyway, He rides his bike all around Japan, running into strange people and interesting situations in his quest for knowledge. At first glance, Kintaro seems like your common, female-obsessed pervert, but later on, you can't help but feel a hint of hidden intelligence behind those sunglasses he wore in the opening theme. So far, DVD's one and two have been realeased, containing 3 episodes each, Japanese or English (^-^) audio, and exclusive photo gallery (umm...I don't recommend watching that...). Out of the six episodes so far, my favorites have to be episodes 2 and 6, the former about a hypocritical teenager hiding behind her father's political inflluence, the latter about an Anime Production studio in trouble. I wouldn't recommend showing this film to small children, however, ages 15/16 and up should get a good laugh out of this, given they can withstand the partial nudity. ^-^

The second anime in mention will, of course, be Excel Saga!! HAIL ILLAPALLAZZO!!*cough cough* *die* For some people, Excel Saga takes some getting used to but I believe there is a plot hidden somewhere in those 20 (+/-) minute episodes! Taking place in the city/prefecture of 'F', the ideal organization of ACROSS must take over the city for the grand Lord Illapallazzo! Unfortunately, ACROSS consists of only 2 members (one who dies constantly) and a dog who serves as an emergency food supply (Menchi= minced meat). Taking different themes and shades of scripting (Action/Romance/Sci-fi/etc..) even the animators and directors take part of the hilarity that ensues in Excel Saga (as dogs in episode 10). Hail Illapallazzo! *BOOM* (This show is really good. I couldn't stop laughing. They've got some decent backgrounds from this show over at animewallpapers.com - Laez)
