February 1, 3:40 pm - It's been raining in Boise for like, three weeks now. Everyone is sick of it ... well, almost everyone. I don't know what it is, but rain and I go together like peanut butter and jelly. Let's see, what else? Oh, I opened a savings account yesterday. It's not just any ordinary account though, it's special. It's called a "goal savings account" and every month, $25 is directly deposited from my paycheck into the account. Being the type of person who spends my money as fast as I get it, this set-up works really well for me. I can't spend the dough if I never see it in the first place, right?February 4, 9:35 pm - The Statesman has been having production problems again this week. I swear, the printing press breaks down practically every morning. When this happens, the papers arrive late to the dropsite which, in turn, causes us to be late with the papers. It's not very appreciated, especially when you're an "obsessive-compulsive perfectionist" carrier like me.
February 14, 1:56 am - Happy Valentine's Day!
February 18, 5:32 am - On President's Day, Mom and I decided to take a drive to Garden Valley. It turned out to be the perfect day for a family outing, with an abundance of sunshine and beautiful blue skies. I was able to capture some great photos, which I hope to have on the site very soon!
February 20, 6:00 pm - I spent most of the morning on the phone with Jennifer, the accounts payable clerk at the Statesman. Who knew that being a self-employed contractor could lead to such an IRS mess? Luckily, I was able to get things sorted out after my fourth phone call. I'm happy to report that it's all in the hands of my accountant now ... that poor bastard!
February 26, 3:28 pm - I mailed a $300 payment to my credit card company this morning. I owe about $900 total. I plan on making two more payments of $300 over the next couple of months. By April, I should be completely out of debt. Hooray!
