This is Cheyanne and Anastasia. Cheyanne is the little blonde on the left and Anastasia (Tassie) is the ham on the right. Like every proud parent I like to brag on my children!
Tassie is seven-years old and is a camouflage belt in Taekwando. Tassie belongs to the Black Belt Club and having only started last November, she has really come a long way, pretty quickly. Tassie competed in the regional championships and came out with two over-all first place trophies and one over-all second place trophy. Tassie will be attempting to get her fifth belt, the green belt, this April (2002) and hopefully will get a chance to be in another tournament later this summer in Atlanta.
Cheyanne's nickname says it all! She is as shy as they get . . . for the first five seconds! She loves to pretend that she is the shy quiet one as she hides behind our backs when being introduced to new people, but before long she is sitting in their lap and giving them hugs. One of my favorite stories to tell is how she peeked around my back to see who was knocking at the door, after I chatted for a bit with the gentleman, Cheyanne extended her arms and said: "huggy?" With a frown on my face, I looked down at her said, "No, Cheyanne," as I patted her on the head, "we do not ask the pizza delivery man for a hug."
If ever there were two opposites, these two girls are them. Tassie would prefer to be climbing a tree or kicking a soccer ball around, while Cheyanne would prefer to be getting made up like a Barbie doll. But what can I say?
