Dilute your fuel with water by up to 50%!!!


Before you reject this outright you owe it to yourself to read on and look at what it is now possible to achieve with current technology.
This is not only possible it is currently being done and marketed by companies in Russia Brazil and the U. S. First lets look at what has been done in the past. Water in the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine is not new in fact it is nearly as old an idea as the internal combustion engine itself is. Nikolaus August Otto built the first gasoline powered engine. He also patented a water injection system for use in Internal combustion engines. Some World War II aircraft engines used water injection systems.

Should you at this point scoff again. Let me point out that a quick serf of the web using a few key key words will quickly reveal it is already being sold by Advanced Fuels® in Nevada and Chevron® and is used in Russia and Brazil. It works both in Diesel and Gasoline Engines. The Companies marketing it are premixing it and selling it by the gallon. It is now primarily being sold to industrial and marine enterprises. It is recognized as an alternative fuel in Nevada. The State of California has agreed not to tax the water portion of a diesel/water version currently being marketed there.

All that is required is to mix traditional full with a minute quantity of emulsifiers and water. A traditional fuel system can easily be adapted to accomplish this task automatically in the form of an additional tank or simply a mixer on the traditional tank. Several designs can be used in implementation of this technology, but that is a matter I discuss elsewhere.

I will shortly go into how and why it works beautifully, but first I will go into how and why we need utilize these new emulsified fuels. Aside from the obvious monetary savings they produce less noxious emissions. Equally they reduce our reliance on diminishing fossil fuels helping to stretch that supply into the future. Not free energy but a step in that direction. A lower octane gasoline can be used.

How It Works


I will concentrate on how it works with a gasoline engine, because I believe this would be of the most interest to the general public. I will also try to refrain from getting into heavy chemistry and engineering principles. A gasoline engine runs by sucking air/gas mixture into the top of the cylinder where a high voltage spark ignites the mixture and drives the piston down. Several factors help determine how efficient this process is. First of all there is the ratio of air to gas. Should the system inject too much gas (which is more often than not the case) the system will burn until it has used up available oxygen and any left over fuel will be dumped into the exhaust system. This is what causes backfiring the unused fuel in the exhaust will get hot enough to ignite and all explode at once. Dispersion of the fuel in the cylinder head (top of the cylinder) is also important. Many highly efficient carburetors have been designed that break the fuel into a fine aerosol before it enters the head. This will evenly disperse fuel throughout the combustion chamber. The problem with these have been clogging due to gumming from modern fuels. They force the fuel under pressure through a small opening, fuel deposits build up and that hole becomes too small to let enough gas through. The engine then is starved for fuel and doesn't get full power in the ignition stroke.

The addition of a well mixed gasoline water mixture helps disperse the gas through the combustion chamber using a smaller amount of gas similar to the aerosol type carburetor yet using the same existing carburetion system. A gasoline engine ideally burns the fuel from the ignition source (spark plug) down to the piston. The burning edge of this explosion is called the flame front. Should the fuel ignite on the other side of the flame front (called detonation) it actually disrupts the initial explosion and reduces power. The same amount of fuel is being burnt with less power achieved. This occurrence is what is called engine knock or pinging. In the water/fuel mixture the high voltage spark is still sufficient to ignite the explosion yet the mixture does have a higher ignition point. This causes less chance of detonation, so a lower octane fuel may be used. The octane rating of a fuel is a measure of its propensity to detonate or explode in front of the flame front due to extreme pressures and temperatures. As the flame front burns the water particles that are suspended in the fuel heat and flash into steam. This process absorbs a lot of heat yet increases pressure thus helping to drive the piston. The coolant system has less work to do to maintain engine operation temperature. The steam exhaust gas mixture cleans carbon deposits efficiently. It all results in a cleaner running longer lasting motor.

Just Add Water

My desire is to quickly put this advancement in the hands of the populace. It will reduce air pollution. Lower dependence on foreign oil. A fairly simple system can be set up that requires that the motor operator know nothing about fuel/water ratios or emulsifying agents. A system where a separate tank is simply filled with water. Should the water tank run empty the engine would simply revert back to using 100% gasoline until the water tank is refilled.

The Emulsification Agent

The correct emulsification is the secret to this whole process. Coming up with the most effective emulsifier is where I've spent most of my time and effort so far. I now have what I believe to be the most effective combination. I have some background in chemistry and have spent much time conferring with experienced chemists and following up with tests and experimentation. I'm willing to share this information, but only with people who are serious about implementing it.

Much work still needs to be done. I have several different size and make engines I'm getting ready to analyze. Optimum fuel/water ratios have to be determined and exhaust gases need to be analyzed to name just a couple things that need to be worked on. At any rate this all costs money and a lot of my time. I'm setting up a bulletin board and mail list for people who want to work on this. The bulletin board and mail list will contain all the details including details of the emulsification agents so people can conduct tests themselves and trade information.

The purpose of this document is to generate interest and acquire help in quickly getting this into the populace. Really all you need to join this group is a willingness to test this technology. The group will charge an annual fee of $29.00 US for access to the information contained therein. The Fuel Group will be a forum where you can see what others are doing to impliment this money saving system. We also would hope that you would post your experiences. I am in the process of designing the Just Add Water in car mixing tank. Should this generate a large response I will update these pages with graphics and set up an automated system.
