Alexander Shadowflame.
A lot can be said for him, and yet, not very much can be said at all. He's done a great many things with his life, mostly dealing with the shady portion of life. He's been an assassin, a thief, an enforcer, even sometimes he's been a spy. His knowledge of the seedier side of life is rivaled only by his skill with the sabre he wields with amazing grave and accuracy.
Some people say he took to the dodgy path because of some incident in his life that drove him from his family. Many specualtions have been made, but none have been proven true, and none have been declared false. Even Alexander declines to comment on his past, on the few occasions he's done any talking to people.
His mind and body work like a clock, every piece doing it's work in complete and total harmony with another. Though he's loathe to talk about it, he has had some training in tactics and strategy, as evident during a few minor scraps between kingdoms, when his services were employed as a spy. Events became such that he ended up actually being a military adviser, having had intimate knowledge of the other force's plans.

Right. There's more than a history. There's what he can do.
Well, he isn't a magus, by any stretch of the imagination. But, he does have a few tricks. Here's what they are.
Blood Tracking - This ability doesn't take effect, unless Alexander has actually touched a drop of a person's blood. But after that point, he is able to follow the person unerringly to where the largest collection of their blood is, which is usually with them, unless they're dead. This ability has proven useful if he's chasing down someone who manages to escape him after he has wounded them.
Sword Fusion - This isn't a single ability. This is, rather, a collection of abilities that tie Alexander's soul in with his sword, which reciprocates the link with the perculiar empathy the sword seems to have. With it, the sword's shape can be partially reformed, repairing many nicks and scrapes. Also, the following things happen while the link is in place.
The sword conveys to Alexander the feelings of those around him, allowing him to gauge the emotional reactions to any news or actions. It also allows Alex to sense any being with emotions nearby, and their position, so he can find blindly if required to do so.
Alex also feels everything the sword does, and vice versa. If the sword is nicked while linked, Alexander will be cut as well. If Alexander is injured, a defect of some sort will be inflicted on the blade. Only when Alexander is linked with it.
The sword shifts colours while linked with Alexander. When not linked, it is a shade of black. However, when linked, it becomes true black, so it is effectively invisible, though the area around it is distorted, as if the light was being sucked in almost, squeezing the light around it.
That's it... The sword in itself isn't special, save for it's empathy... If it is intelligent, it has shown no sign. It has also been Alexander's sword for as long as he can remember.
