The hole that took this Toyota is in a mid Louisiana swamp, and the situation is actually worse than it looks.  the hole was cut out by the US Army's version of a 6x6 Semi truck (lovely of them to do it in the middle of the road).  The reason there is so much water in this one spot is because a road was built right where the good lord decided to put a natural spring.  You put a spring under a gravel road, and them run a HMMT over it - that's what you get.  Two feet in front of the truck the hole drops off to about five feet deep.  It was a hairy extraction.

Looked like a mud puddle before you was just all up in it.
