The X-Men

Feared because of their supernatural powers, the X-Men are more of a group of outcasts than superheroes who everyone loves and praises. The group was formed by Professor Charles Xavier (being a telepathic mutant himself) because he wished to form a place were mutants were accepted and could dwell with their own kind. And most importantly, learn to control their powers. The X-Men live for a dream, Xavier’s dream, that someday mankind will accept mutants and not fear them.

Professor X

Name: Charles Xavier
Age: 40 or 50 something?
Crush: none
Born in: New York?
Family: His parents are dead, but he has a half brother called Cain Marco, who is also the Juggernaut
Power: Telepathy
A.K.A.: Professor X
First Appearance: Strategy X
Voice Actor: David Kaye
Grade: Too old for school

Professor Xavier lives for a dream, that one-day mutants and humans will be able to live in peaceful co existence. That is the reason why he formed his “Institute for Gifted Youngsters” is so he could teach other mutants out there how to control their powers and use them for good. Professor X has a brother half brother called Cain Marco, who is also the Juggernaut, and he is unstoppable. The Juggernaut’s goal in life is to defeat Xavier, and as much as it hurts for Xavier to do this, he has to defeat him and then have him taken away to a high security prison. Another strange relation that the professor has is with Magneto, the master of Magnetism. They basically used to be best friends, but were parted because of different ideas. Whereas the professor believes in peaceful coexistence with the humans, Magneto believes that mutants are homo superior, that they should rule and put humans in a lower caste than them. Now they are arc-enemies, but Xavier never loses the hope that someday Magneto will realize his wrongdoing and join him in the quest for peace.

Wolverine

Wolverine

Name: Logan
Age: ?, his healing factor makes it impossible to determine how old it is, and the fact that he has amnesia doesn’t help at all.
Crush: None in evolution
Born in: Pretty sure it’s Canada
Family: None
Power: Healing super rapidly and super keen senses. He also has adamantium claws and an adamantium skeleton, which were the result of the Weapon X Project.
A.K.A.: Wolverine
First Appearance: Strategy X
Voice Actor: Scott Mcneil
Grade: Way too old for school
Wolverine was the tragic result of the Weapon X Project, which ruined his life. Who (maybe except for Sabretooth) knows what his life used to be before they did the operation on him. All that is known about his past right now is that he was a soldier during World War II and Captain America’s partner for a little while. Back to Weapon X, an organization (don’t remember what it is right now, was it SHIELD?) decided to make the ultimate fighting machine, and because of Wolverine’s healing factor, they determined he was the perfect “lab rat” to do conduct their experiment to. Logan suffered horribly throughout this time, and an adamantium skeleton was placed inside his body, as well as retractable adamantium claws. After the operation, Logan developed amnesia (don’t know how, but I’ll tell you when I find out) and he doesn’t remember who did this to him or who he was. He was later picked up by Xavier, and he has been his loyal friend ever since. Wolverine’s mortal enemy is Sabretooh, a homicidal mutant who is always after him. Sabretooth probably knows more about Wolverine’s past than he does himself, and he doesn’t intend on revealing his information any time soon.

Storm

Storm

Name: Ororo Munroe
Age: twenty something
Crush: none
Born in: Africa (I think Cairo)
Family: Her parents are dead, but she has a sister who is married and who has a son called Evan (A.K.A. Spyke)
Power: Controlling the weather and all it’s elements
A.K.A.: Storm
First Appearance: Strategy X
Voice Actress: Kristen Williamson

Grade: College Student

When Ororo was a little girl she used to live in Morocco with her parents, but one-day (I think during an earthquake) the building in which they lived in collapsed. Ororo spent days under the rubble amongst her dead parents, but then was finally rescued. Because of this horrible incident Ororo became claustrophobic. Afterwards, she became a thief so she could live. Later on, she was considered a goddess in Tanzania because of her weather manipulating powers, and she served that tribe for many years. Then she graduated from college and was found by Xavier. They became very good friends, and Ororo decided to stay in the institute with him to teach the kids there. She is the motherly figure of the institute, and helps the kids whenever they need it. She also has a nephew named Evan, who is also called Spyke because of his mutant powers. He also resides in the institute, and Ororo has made it her task to teach him how to control his powers, as well as his temper.

Beast

Name: Hank McCoy
Age: 30 something?
Crush: none
Born in: Somewhere in the U.S
Family: None that I know of
Powers: He looks like a huge, blue, scary beast, and has super strength and agility
A.K.A.: Beast
First Appearance: Growing Pains
Voice Actor: Michael Kopsa
Grade: Too old for school, but he’s a certified P.E. and Science teacher

Hank McCoy has been keeping his mutant powers under control by administering a potion that he made himself. But the potion isn’t working anymore and the beast inside of him had to come out. He taught in Bayville High until his beastly powers took hold of him. Not only is he a teacher, but he’s basically a genius, and he loves poetry and classic pieces of work. Beast spends most of his time with the New Recruits than with the other X-Men. That’s probably because they need more help controlling their powers than the others do, so Beast thinks it’s his responsibility as a teacher to teach them. Hank hates his beastly appearance, but now he’s starting to accept it. The professor once proposed to him that he would make a holowatch for him just like Kurt’s, but he didn’t want one. Beast said that he would still be hiding from the world if he wore one of those, because he wouldn’t be showing anyone his true appearance.

Cyclops

Name: Scott Summers
Age: 18
Crush: Jean Grey
Born in: I don’t know, but he’s lived most of his life in Alaska
Family: His parent’s are dead, and his brother, Alex Summers, lives in Hawaii
Power: Firing optic blasts
A.K.A.: Cyclops
First Appearance: Strategy X
Voice Actor: Kirby Morrow
Grade: Twelfth, Senior

Scott Summers has suffered tragic losses throughout his life. When he was a young boy, he was on an airplane with his family, when something happened to it and it was about to crash. There were only two parachutes left, and his parents put them on him and his brother. As they fell to the ground, Scott and Alex were separated. Scott stayed in a comma for weeks, and when he awoke, he believed that his brother was dead. Being alone in the world, Scott was put into an orphanage until his mutant powers manifested. He blew a hole through the roof of a hospital, and everyone was scared to come close to him, except for Professor Xavier and Wolverine (if you want to learn more on what happened in Scott’s early days as an X-Man and the deal with the hospital, then go to the comics section and read what it says on comic #2). When Jean came around, Scott fell in love with her at first sight. He still has a HUGE crush on her and I think that they might go out in the next season. In the end of the first season of X-Men: Evolution he was reunited with his long lost brother, Alex, who did manage to survive the plane crash. And to his surprise, Alex also has powers just like Scott, but instead of firing optic blasts, he fires energy blasts from his hands. Scott is the fearless leader of the X-Men. He might be a bit stern and bossy at times, but at other times he can act just like a normal teen.

Jean Grey

Name: Jean Grey
Age: 17
Crush: Throughout the show, she has been going out with Duncan Matthews (a football player), but she also has some feelings for Scott which are beginning to come out into the open.
Born in: Connecticut?
Family: Has a mom and dad, and I think she has some sisters
Power: Telepathy and Telekinesis
A.K.A.: In Evolution she’s just Jean Grey, but in the non-evo storyline she’s called Phoenix of Marvel Girl
First Appearance: Strategy X
Voice Actress: Venus Terzo
Grade: Eleventh, Junior

She’s got looks, talent, sportsmanship, style, popularity, and brains; you could say she’s the perfect girl. Jean is the “voice of reason” for the team, and I guess you could say she’s the co captain also. She is the only one of the X-Men who is not an outcast at school, and is the captain of the soccer team. For some time, she’s been going out with Duncan Matthews (a popular jock), but now she’s seeing him for the jerk he is. She’s had some secret feelings about Scott, and can’t stop but make him jealous of her and Duncan. Why? How should I know, maybe it’s so Scott likes her more or something. In the recent episodes, Jean and Scott’s relationship has been growing and they have been making many attempts to let the other know what they feel about them. Some while ago, Jean had some problems with her powers. They were increasing too rapidly for her and she was going out of control; things were being thrown everywhere because of her telekinetic ability, but, luckily, no one was hurt, too badly. Jean is well thought of and respected by everyone, except for Rogue. Rogue is a bit jealous of Jean because she is almost perfect, everything that Rogue is not. It’s pretty fun to watch their arguments, but who knows, maybe they will decrease in the third season, because they did say that Rogue was having key changes. But, then again, maybe they won’t.

Nightcrawler

Name: Kurt Wagner
Age: 16
Crush: First it was Kitty, then it was Tabitha, now it’s Amanda. Just like he says, “the chicks dig the fuzzy dude.”
Born in: Germany
Family: His mother is Mystique, and Rogue is his foster sister
Powers: He has a blue, fuzzy, demon like appearance, and can teleport.
A.K.A: Nightcrawler
First Appearance: Stretegy X
Voice Actor:
Grade: Tenth, Sophomore

Even though Kurt has a demon like appearance (which I think is cool and cute at the same time), his heart is really one of the nicest you’ve ever seen. Sure, he likes to play a practical joke once in a while, but who can blame him? Out of everyone in the institute, he’s the funniest and most cheerful of them all. I think that the reason he’s so happy most of the time is to compensate the way that he looks like on the outside. Kurt looks like a demon with blue fur, but the Professor made him a holowatch, which projects an image around Kurt, so that he looks like a “normal” person. Sometimes he hates the way he looks like because of the way people react to it, but he’s always comforted by his team members, and that makes him feel better. Kurt’s mother is Mystique, the shape shifting villain. When he was just a baby, he fell into a river while Mystique was trying to save his life, but, thankfully, he was found by a nice, German family. Despite his appearance, his foster family loved him, but they decided that it was for the best for Kurt to go to Xavier’s school, so he could learn to control his powers. Kurt is a ladies man; he says that the girls dig the fuzzy dude. First, he had a crush on Kitty, then it turned to Tabitha, but now he’s with Amanda. Amanda is a non-mutant girl who is in his math class, and a few episodes ago, she asked him to go with her to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. When they were dancing together, she revealed to him that she knew about his secret. In the end of the episode, he shows her how he really looks like, and she isn’t scared away, but, instead, she goes out to eat some ice cream with him.

Shadowcat

Name: Katherine (Kitty) Pryde
Age: 15
Crush: Lance Alvers, A.K.A. Avalanche.
Born in: Illinois
Family: Her mom and dad
Powers: Phasing through solid matter
A.K.A.: Shadowcat
First Appearance: The X Impulse
Voice Actress: Maggie O’Hara
Grade: Ninth, Freshman

Kitty Pryde comes from a nice, normal family, and a nice town. One night, as she dreamt that she was flying, she suddenly fell down from the sky. Not just in her dream, but she fell through the floors of a two story house and landed in the basement. Who knew something like this would happen to her? In Evolution, she’s kind of a valley girl, but she’s really supposed to be a child genius (she is REALLY smart though). Kitty still has some of her sense of humor, and is the probably the sweetest girl in Evolution. She wasn’t that popular in her old school, and retains that same rank in Bayville High, but it’s a bit less bad than it used to be because she’s got the X-Men to back her up. Kitty is really close to her family, both the X-Men and her own family. And I bet she’s the only one who dares give Wolverine a hug. Out of all the couples, I think that Kitty and Lance’s is one of the most interesting and sweetest ones. She really likes him, even though he’s in the Brotherhood, but that doesn’t stop them from seeing each other. Lance is forever tormented by the other b-hood members about his relationships with Kitty, but he doesn’t care about what they say. He even tried to join the X-Men once to try to get closer to her.

Rogue one of Cassidy's personal favorites

Name: ?, but in the x-men movie they said it was Marie
Age: 16
Crush: Has a small crush on Scott, but now she’s getting into Gambit
Born in: Mississippi
Family: Mystique placed her in the care of Destiny, a mutant who can see the future. She is also Kurt’s foster sister.
Powers: By touch, she can absorb another being’s energy and memories, and when it’s another mutant, she gets their powers too
A.K.A.: Rogue
First Appearance: Rogue Recruit
Voice Actress: Megan Black
Grade: Tenth, Sophomore

When Rogue first met the X-Men, it wasn’t a peaceful encounter. Mystique made her confused and made her believe that the X-Men were her enemies. After a couple of episodes, Rogue finally found out the truth and joined them. Rogue is an outcast, not because of the way she looks, but because of her powers. She believes them to be a curse, because thanks to them, she can’t touch another living being without putting them in a comma. She’s sarcastic, you could say a bit grouchy, and a complete loner. Rogue is too scared to get too close to anyone, which is why she is the way she is. Even though she acts this way on the outside, on the inside she’s just looking for someone who accepts her and loves her. She is a bit jealous of Jean, because she has everything that Rouge doesn’t have; Jean comes from a good family, everyone likes her, and she’s pretty. Ever since the first episode when she appeared, Scott has been trying to reach out to her. Because of this, Rogue has a slight crush on him, which she denies, but can be seen. In day of Reckoning Gambit finally came! They had a small moment together where they almost kiss, which is an indication of things to come. Although, I think she might chase him more than he does her, unlike the non-evo storyline.
