1. Strategy X During a football gabe, Scott Summers tries to defend Todd Tolansky from getting beaten up by football players (Duncan and his gang. As a result, an accident happens in which Scott's sunglasses fall off, so his optic beams destroy one of the school buildings. In the meantime, Professor Xavier is in the train station picking up Kurt Wagner, a new student for his "School for Gifted Youngsters." Kurt has the appearance of a blue demon and he can teleport, but the Professor gives him a holowatch, which holographs the image of a "normal" him. Professor X finds out that Todd Tolansky is a mutant, so he decides to check out his powers. But Mystique, the villanous shapeshifter, has other plans. Todd goes to the Xavier mansion, where his powers are tested. Then, after some fighting, broken things, and name calling, Todd decides to not join the x-men, while a dissapointed Kurt thinks the team's better off with out him. Although, in the end Cyclops convinces him to stay, and Wolverine arrives back at the mansion. Meanwhile, a very annoyed Mystique kicks Todd out of her office becaue he ruined her plan, and then Magneto shows up to talk to her.

2. The X Impulse One night, Kitty Pryde dreamt that she was flyingthrough the air, but suddenly it turned into a nightmar and she dreamt that she she was falling. When she woke up she found herelf to be in te basement, and asher parents went down to see what happened, they looked at the ceiling and sw her blanket stuck in between the first floor and the basement. The next day, her mother reluctantly let he go to school. There, two bullies pushed he into a locker and as she pounded on the door, a tough looking guy namd ance lvers came ut of th boys bathroom and started to spray the lckers. Suddenly, Kity fell through hr locker and on top of Lance. He shows her that he has mutant powers too and beginsto create an earthquake. She denies what is hapening and goes running away to her PE class. Meanwhile, the Professo and Jean go to Kitty's home o talk to her parents about her powers, but they refuse to listen to anything they saw. Then they decideto go to the chool to try to reach Kitty, but nce gets cloer to her as Jean gets farther away. Because of this bad relationship, Lance uses ity to get inside the pricipal's office tand get the answers to upcoming tests. Then, Jean and Kitty;s parents come in to try to stop Lance and get Kitty back. Kitty tries to free heself from Lance's grasp, but is unable to unil she uses her powers to go through hs hand. He gets so angy that he causes the office to cave in o them, but with her powers, Kitty is able to get them into safety. Then, as the professor talks to Kitty's prents about her joining the school, another deal is made by Mystique and Lance, now called Avalanche.

3. Rogue Recruit Down in Misssippi, there's a party going on with everyone dancig exceptfor one lonely girl. Out of the building comes Cody (one of the stars of the football team) and his friend when they see the girl. Cody has had a secret crush on her and finally has the guts to to ask her to dance and she accepts. As hey dance, he accidentaly knocks her over and as he helps her us, he touches her bare skin and falls down unconcious. Evreryone stares at the girl who is afraid and confusd. As she runsaway from the party, Cody' friend tries to stp her, but she amazingly tackles him with Cody's strenghth and managesto run away. Some moments before this, in anther part of Mississippi, a blind woman is sitting on a chair when she forsees what will happen, and decides to call someone on the phone imediately. In the ansion, the x-men are trying out their securit system and the Professor gets readings from Cerebro about a new mutant.He tells them to get ready, they have to find the Rogue before someone gets hurt. Back in Mississippi, Mystique greets her future seeing friend, Destiny and tells her that they can't loose Rogue to Xavier. Mystique is determined to do anything in her powr to keep the x-men away from Rogue. Meanwhile, a confused Rogue goes to where she think is her home to be attacked by Mystique disguised as Wolverine. She becomes even more scared and runs away. Mystique then uses the same tactics by becoming Storm and attacking Rogue. When the real Wolverine sees her, she she runs away in panic, so nightcrawler decides to talk to her. As he starts to reach Rogue, Kitty attacks her from behind, so Rogue accidentaly takes nightcrawlers powers away and he falls down unconciously. Rogue teleports herself ino a cemetery where Jean trie to talkto her, but when Rogue sees Storm she flees. Again, Mystique attacks Rogue as Cyclops and Jean, so now even more confused than ever, Rogue takes Storm's powers. Although, becuse of all the powers she has taken and the difficulty of control over Storm's powers, she looses control, which nearly costs Storm's life. In he end, Rogue goes to Bayvilly High, not as an X-Man, but as a member of the Brotherhood.

4. Mutant Crush Jean and Wolverine are at a monster truck ralley watching a big fat guy with superhuman strenghth. Determining that he is a mutant, they go to talk to him after the show, but Mystique gets to him first. When Fred Dukes, joins Bayville High, he doesn't have any friends and is very confused, but Jean helps him with what he needs and becomes his friend. In the cafeteria, Fred accidentaly makes his food go on top of him and Duncan and the football team, so everyone starts to laugh. Enraged at this, Fred almost destroys the whole cafeteria, but is stoped by Scott and Jean. The next day, Fred asks Jean to go out with him somewhere, but she refuses. Angered at this, Fred abducts her and forces her to go with him. When the X-Men find out that she isn't there, they start to look for her everywhere. Meanwhile, Scott is practicing for a school assignment with Rogue, when he hears about Jean's disapearance. He asks Rogue if she knows anything, but she answers rudely. In another part of town, Wolverine is able to track down Jean's location and calls for the other X-Men to come. Jean begins to fight with Fred and then the X-Men come, who also start to fight against him. Scott and the rest are beaten by Fred, but amazingly, Rogue shows up and takes Scott's power. With it she beats Fred and Jean is free. When they try to thank Rogue, she says she doesn't know why she helped them, and she walks away from them.

5. Speed and Spyke Storm is at a basketball game watching her nephew, Evan Daniels, play. One of Evan's team mates, Pietro Maximoff, tries to shoot the ball into the basket, but misses. The game is almost about to end, and everyone tells Pietro to pass it to Evan. He reluctanly passes it and Evan scores, but also discovers his mutant powers when spikes grow out of him and scratch the floor. As the team cheers him on, a jealous Pietro looks at him and turns away. Later in teh locker room, Storm is congratulating her nephew and brings up the subject of his mutant powers, but he tells her that he has them under control and doesn't need any help from anyone. Afterwards, they are in Evan's home having a victory bar-b-q, and Storm is talking to the Professor about Evan telepathically. The next day at school, Evan discovers that his locker has been broken into again. Pietro comes up to him and gives him money to bait the crook, and then he mutters something and leaves. That night, Jean, Scott and the professor come over to the Daniel's home to talk about his mutation with his parents. Evan gets pissed off, starts to insult everyone, and he goes up to his room angrily. He grabs his skateboard, climbs out the window, and goes to the school to catch the person who's stealing stuff from the lockers. At school, Evan decides to hide behind a locker and sees a whirlwind going through the hall and opening the lockers. Evan shoots his spikes at it. The spikes form a barrier, so it can't move anywhere else, and then the whirlwind stops.Evan's eyes are wide open when he sees Pietro. Pietro explains that he's also a mutant with superspeed, and that his alias is Quicksilver. Pietro starts stealing everything, and then the police comes. Pietro escapes without being seen, and Evan is caught. Luckily, the Professor gets him out of jail. Then Scott offers to help him, so Evan decides to join the X-men. One day he was trainig but then gets pissed off because he kept on failing. Kitty tells him he has a basket-ball game against his old school.When Pietro and Evan see each other again, Pietro confesses to Jean and Scott that he stole all the stuff. Scott tries to grab Pietro, but Pietro throws him over. Then Pietro runs away, but Evan went chasing after him on his skate board. Scott and Jean follow them. Then Pietro starts to cause all kinds of havok throughout the city, and the problem is that he's too fast for them. After a hard fight, Evan finally traps him. When Evan tells him that he's gonna tell the cops about what he did, but Pietro just laughs and says that he doesn't have any proof. Luckily, Evan takes out a tape recorder and shows him that he taped his confession. Pietro was put in jail, but was later busted out by Magneto. Meanwhile, Evan decides that he is gonna stay with the X-Men after all.

6. Middleverse Duncan Mathews is having a party and the x-men are sitting at a table discussing it. Scott is saying that they shouldn't go, Kitty found out that she couldn't go since she's a freshman, and in the excitement of it all, Kurt stands up on the table and starts to dance. Accidentally, his tail becomes visible and Scott pulls it to make him sit. Angry, Kurtt starts to tell Scott how much of a party pooper he is and how much that hurt, so he teleports away. Without meaning to, he teleports into the janitor's room. He crashes into some boxes and his image inducer goes berzerk, making him appear in his true form. Kurt decides to explore the room, but he is unaware that as he walked forward he passed through a red laser light on the floor. Immediately, a tv turns on and the face of a teenage boy appears saying that the lab will self destruct. With very little time to get out, he barely makes it out the door when it explodes. At the same time, Rogue's sitting down reading a book when she hears a crash in the building nearby. She decides to investigate and as she enters the building she notices a bad smell and sees Kurt thrown on top of all these boxes. She finds some kind of device and picks it up, but when Kurt sees it they start to struggle for it. Accidentaly, Rogue does something with the machine that makes Kurt vanish. Scared, she picks the machine up with a stick and takes it to the trash. In the trash she is met by Todd Tolensky, who earlier had been scolded by the principal to not damage her new car, since he was gonna eat a bug that was near it. He asks her what she has, and she tells him to not mind, that they have one less x-man to worry about. But of course, when does Toad listen? He picks up the machine and as he plays around with it he makes something vanish into thin air. Amazed by its power, Toad goes off to see what else he can make dissappear. As for Kurt, he finds himself in the school halls, only this time they're eerily empty, except for what seems like ghostly figures of all the students. He goes to the gym were he finds the boy who he had seen in the television right before the lab exploded. They begin to talk, and apparently, the boy's name is Forge and he's a mutant too. Forge is also some kind of genious, and he explains to Kurt that they are in another dimension called Middleverse, and that he's been trapped there since the 70's. The reason for this mishap is that Forge had created that machine for his school science fair, but had accidentally zapped himself into Middlevers, and he hasn't been able to get out. Due to Todd's amusement with the machine, all this stuff starts to fall on them, from benches to waterfountains. Meanwhile in the normal world, the x-men noticed that Kurt has been gone for a long time. As they look for him they find the brotherhodd guys and ask them where he is. Since they don't give them an answer, Jean almost gets into a fight with Lance, but Principal Darkholme breaks it up and sends Scott and Jean to her office. When they enter it, she finds that all her furniture has vanished, so she leaves them in there. They look out the window and see Toad who is zapping all this stuff into nowhere. Scott sends the x-men after him, and after a long chase, Spyke is able to pin him to a tree and they get the machine away from him. A second later, Rogue appears and tells them to leave Todd alone, and she says that she knows what happened to Kurt. Before Scott has the time to threaten anything, she tells them to leave Toad alone or else she won't tell them were Kurt is. Leaving Toad behind, Rogue leads them to the room where Kurt got zaped and explains what happened. They start to look at the machine and decide to destroy it. At the same time in the same room, but in a different dimension, Forge finds a way for Kurt to go to the normal world, but only for a second since they don't have enough energy and he tells Kurt to tell them to not destroy it, but to reset it instead. With only a second, Kurt teleports into the normal world, but is only able to say, "reset, don't", and is taken back to middleverse. Evan says thta it meant to not reset it, and still goes for destroying it, but Scott says that it probably means to reset it. Before they're able to do that, the brotherhood comes and a big fight ensues. While this fight takes place, Forge and Kurt find Principal Darkholme's car (which Toad zapped into Middleverse for revenge) and they decide that with it they have enough power to get out of there. Forge fixes it up, and Kurt drives them out of there after a few attempts. They crash into Blob, and the fighting stops. Later, Forge leaves them, saying that he has a lot of catching up to do with his parents, and teh x-men decide to go to Duncan's party.
