Story

The story takes place on the world of Mythica, which is a huge planet that exists very close to the Astral plane, allowing powerful magic-users (those who can will Ether to do their bidding) and supernatural beasts roam the lands. People can become superhumanly powerful or remain normal people.

There are 5 known continents on Mythica. All are interconnected by a great series of large Gateways which instantaneously teleport the inhabitants from one place to another. They were left behind by some unknown race, which mysteriously vanished a long time ago- some believe that they became too technologically advanced, other believe they became enlightened and thus their bodies died and their souls leaving to Nirvana, and still others believe some great cataclysm struck the land, killing them. Here are the continents and description:

Nosgoth: The home of the True Arena, the center flow-point of all of Mythica. Veltana, the capital city of Nosgoth, is where the True Arena is and the meeting point of the four Great Houses of Mythica- Tiamat, Thor, Wraith, and Chroma. Although it acts as the economical center and home to many, each House has its own small continent- and more are being discovered. It is a great jungle-continent, fertile and vast.

Derangu: Derangu is a desert continent, and the home of the Thor House. The fighters train themselves in citadels and compete in small arenas, against each other, for the entertainment of the citizens. The home of the Thor House, the actual palace, is home to only the greatest of warriors and gladiators. The Thor House supports these classes: Bladesman, Soulchanneler, Monk, Berserker, and Gladiator.

Isengard: Isengard is a world of twilight, a huge craggy mountain where survival of the fittest is law and the only civilized place lies in the very center of the mountains, in a deep valley surrounded on all sides, where the dark clouds that constantly circle the mountains part and shed light on the fair city of Toere. High above the great city, the Dragon Knights ride their mounts through the dark clouds to defend against he aerial beasts that prey on the citizens. Within the ivory walls of Toere, the great palace of House Tiamat reaches up into the sky, a tall spire that reaches just above the clouds. At the very top of this tower is a giant globe, a great observatory that sees through the clouds and can be accessed by anyone learning the art of Astromancy. Tiamat House supports these classes: Dragon Knight, Lancer, Archer, Summoner, Astromancer

Meridia: The continent of Meridia is a beautiful one indeed, home to lush evergreen forest filled with towering redwoods, freshwater lakes and rivers, and it is filled with many non-fighters and fighters alike. However, it is inhabited by terrible beasts that roam these forests at night, and it is because of this that all the cities have great, tall walls and the great House Chroma to defend it. In the center of the continent, there is a great crater that holds the palace of House Chroma. The Chroma Mages defend the cities as well as working to better themselves. Chroma House supports these classes: White Mage, Blue Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Green Mage.

Shadovuil: The fifth continent is possibly the most barren and hellish of the continent, for it is a place of constant thunder- it lies not far from Meridia, but deeper into what are known as the Darkmist- the mass of thunderclouds that constantly sit above the area. Deep underground, banished from the rest of the planet, the Wraith House study the dark arts. There are no citizens here, for the place is almost inpossible to live in and the beasts that roam the lightning-burned plains kill on sight. Wraith House supports these classes: Ninja, Assassin, Kleptomancer, Psionicist, Dementia Mage

Here is how a person would be recruited into one of the houses (not necessarily as a gladiator):

Thor House: One would have to show potential a a warrior, not only in strength and skill but in integrity and honor. The person, depending on age, will be put through a test of might- depending the class he/she wishes to study- and then he/she will then be trained by a Master who has made it to the pinnacle of knowledge in the field (Lv.45).

Tiamat House: The Tiamat House picks its own trainees- and they will then accept or decline. As with the Thor house, they are chosen for their integrity, and the Dragon Knight 'Potentials' must have mild psionic ability- to be trained to commune with his dragon partner. The High Summoners (Lv.45) will summon a great dragon partner for each young Dragon Knight, and the spirit of each dragon chooses his partner.

Chroma House: The Chroma House finds its own trainees, much like Tiamat House. The people it picks are those with strong wills, those who search through the ancient books for power- and they will them be found and infucted into the House.

Wraith House: Many of the trainees of the Wraith House are said to be taken from childhood, from their nursery beds by the Master Ninjas (Lv45). For this reason, the House have been banished from the rest of the planet, deep beneath the Shadovuil surface. They have not, however, been banished from the Arena- and all of the Wraith House warriors are to be feared.
