Directions to Shotton Airfield, Peterlee from South Shields.
Take the A19 Southbound, heading towards Teeside.
Take the Peterlee turn off and turn right at the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road following signs for 'Shotton Colliery'.
Pass the fire station and straight over two roundabouts
After a short journey of about 400 yds after the second roundabout you will see the sign for 'Airfield'.Turn right following the sign and the road bears left in an industrial estate.
You come to what appears to be a dead end - it isn't - the centre is in here to the right!
The journey takes about 26 minutes - if there's no traffic!
