FRIGHT TIME

Silence of the Lambs (1991)

The first (and so far only) horror film to get a Best Picture Oscar, this film stands out as one of the best. Anthony Hopkins turns in a marvelous performance as Hannibal 'The Cannibal' Lecter, a psychotic psychologist with some bizarre humor and a great appetite. He is helping Agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) catch a lunatic serial killer known as 'Buffalo Bill.' He manages to get inside her head, and the psychological battle between the two is the greatest horror in the film. The end showdown isn't all that bad for pure terror either. This one is a must-own.

Famous Quotes:"A census taker once tried to test me... I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti." -Hannibal Lecter (Hopkins).

"Amputate a man's leg and he can still feel it tickling. Tell me mum, when your little girl is on the slab, where will it tickle you?" -Lecter again.

"I do wish we could chat longer, but I'm having an old friend for dinner." -the always quotable Lecter.
