Pet Sematary (1989)
An entertaining film based on Stephen King novel. Louis Creed and his family move to a small rural town. Their house borders on a major truck route. Louis's children are just beginning to learn about death, so neighbor Jud Crandall (a great Fred Gwynne) shows them the Pet Sematary. However, beyond this burial ground is yet another one with mystical and terrifying properties. The stage is then set for a deliberation on death and the responsibilites of a parent to his child, and how far they will take a person. Some gore and gruesomeness is thrown in for good measure. Highly recommended, though if you watch it with friends, expect at least one joker (me, in this case) to start making dumb MST3K-style comments on its predictability. Otherwise, it's a top-notch King adaptation.
